I was wondering if there is anyone here who went to UC Berkeley and how you dealt with the pre-requisites.

I majored in MCB and took Chem 1a, 3a, 3b, and MCB 102 to fulfill my chem pre-reqs

According to
http://bioegrad.berkeley.edu/premedinfo.php
I did fulfill the G. Chem and O. Chem pre-reqs, but some schools are saying I did not fulfill the one year of General Chemistry. So what am I supposed to do now? Any suggestions/experiences are greatly appreciated.

I would refer them to the website or explain that chem 3a/al is recommended as the second semester of general chem. There haven't been any problems at the 25 schools I have applied to thus far. Good look with you apps!

If you have AP Chem credit on transcript, it may be accepted at some med schools.

Yeah, I don't remember any med school not accepting the Berkeley Chem sequence. Your BioE sequence is exactly the same as the MCB and IB sequence. Except UCLA dental school, if I remember correctly.

Also, most med schools do not require that you have completed all the pre-reqs at the time of the application. If you're accepted and they said that you need 2nd semester of G chem, take it in the spring or summer before med school matriculation in August.

Worst comes to worst you can take Chem 1B with lab. I think that's officially the sequence to Chem 1A.
