UC COP Class of 2017

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
So it turned out that I was just being so hard on myself. I got my acceptance letter today. I still can't believe it. I'm am so happy for me and I wish everyone else the best.

Congrats to those getting your admission letters via email! I just got my informational packet from UC in the mail today. They require a $250 nonrefundable deposit to hold your spot; it will be applied to your fall tuition. I am looking forward to meeting all of you. We will probably get to know each other quite well over the next four years.

Didn't I tell you not to lose hope? You must be thrilled. I am happy for you, especially since you sounded so down before. I think it is evident they are not nearly as hard on us as it might seem. Congratulations!

Just talked to a P1 at the school. She was told that between 25-40 people have been accepted so far. No word on how many have posted the deposit, yet. A little bit nervous at this point, but positive because I figured that most of the people with extremely high GPA's and PCAT's would be accepted at this point. I got a 78 on the PCAT and have a 3.3 GPA, but thought my interview went rather smooth.

You were right. Now that I think about it, I feel that it was the honesty and sincerity in me that they might have seen. I spoke the truth no matter how poor a quality it might present. There was a question that I could have given a bogus answer to boost me up, but I gave them the actual value n they responded like it was too small. But they still recommended me. Thanks for your calming words

I feel like you and I are in the same boat. I was told the best of the best find out right away but I thought that was referring to the interview which I thought went extremely well. It now seems that it must be the best as in GPA and PCAT. I'm pretty nervous too, my GPA is decent with a 3.5 but my PCAT was terrible and I was unable to retake it unfortunately, but I already explained that to the committee. I guess I assumed since I received an interview all of that didn't really matter anymore? I know they have another 2 weeks of interviews at least, did she say when other students would find out if they didn't right away? Let's keep our fingers crossed as we continue to wait.

By the way, congrats to those accepted! Truly a great accomplishment. Was this everyone's first choice? Hope to meet you all soon.

It is my only choice. I think they said that majority of the students will find out in march. And you are right. If they called you, it means that you are qualified. And since your interview went really well,
you may just have to be a bit more patient. You will definitly get the acceptance.

Being from Cincinnati and going to UK, I know a decent amount of people that go to UC's pharmacy school. A lot of them said that most of their friends in pharmacy school got accepted in March, however, I also have a friend (who didn't have amazing stats) that interviewed around the second weekend and then was accepted about two and a half weeks later, which he thought was quick. My other schools accepted me the very next week so now I'm freaking out cause UC didn't do the same. But all the people I know said not to worry. I think that if you have either a solid GPA or a solid PCAT it really bodes well, so with a good GPA you should be fine after you already interviewed.

At least you know you have been accepted to another school. No matter what happens, you can become a PharmD. I know UC is your first choice, but if it doesn't happen at least you have options! Like several other people on this forum, UC is my first and only choice. I didn't apply anywhere else. I have 2 kids still in high school and my husband has a good job here so I can't move. Older students like me don't have a lot of options when it comes to location, because I have to consider my family's needs as well. But good luck. Be patient and hopefully you will get good news soon.

I've heard the last few days that UC is down to offering their last 20-30 spots. Has anyone else been accepted? I know they are still conducting interviews but they must have quite a waiting list formed at this point.

Who did you hear that from? I would think that more people would have posted, but then again I don't know.

Hello, I interviewed on Saturday the 9th....I was very impressed with the school and faculty. I thought my interview went well, but who knows...I hope I don't get wait listed!

I interviewed Saturday the 9th and thought it went really well. My stats are a 3.6 GPA and a 61 composite. Still haven't heard anything yet. Crossing my fingers!

Just got my admissions email this morning! I interviewed on February 9. Good luck to everyone!!

I interviewed on Feb. 9th and received my an acceptance email this morning as well! Very excited

Hello everyone that is still waiting to hear from Uc. I know it's been a long wait. I'm wishing you all the best. I hope this month will be the month you get your good news. Stay positive. :luck:

I'm really, really hoping so, too! It's my number one choice, but I still haven't lost hope. I interviewed Jan. 18th though :/

Has anyone heard anything? I know someone who was accepted yesterday but I still haven't heard anything. I have a feeling I will be placed on the alternate list but I am so anxious to learn my spot on the list. Does anyone have any clue as to when they will release the list?

Hey everyone, I received some fantastic news this morning. I was offered admission this morning! I interviewed back in January and honestly I was beginning to lose hope so today was a pleasant surprise! I interviewed with Purdue a few weeks back and if I were to get into both schools it would be an extremely tough decision. Is anyone else deciding between multiple schools? For those of you waiting to hear back still don't give up and I wish you the best of luck.

Fantastic news indeed. Congrats!!!

Found out on Spring Break that I was accepted on 3/14. The wait is finally over! So excited to come back to my home of Cincinnati for 4 more years! See you all at orientation!

Hey everyone.. Congrats to anyone who has been accepted to UC and good luck to those still waiting for a decision. I couldn't find a Facebook group up yet for the class of 2017 so I went ahead and made one. If you are going to be a member of the UC class of 2017, join the group!

Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/514117515307195/

Lemme know if it doesn't work. I look forward to meeting everyone!

Thanks for making this! I will see you all in August! Can't wait to start!

Congrats!! I'm very happy for you. I had no doubt that you would make it.

Interview February 9th still no news, just curious does anyone know roughly how many applicants make it off of the alternate list? I'm sure that number changes yearly, but still curious to know what a "good" number might be considered.

I've always heard the upper 3rd

Has anyone heard anything recently? I have a feeling that since I have not heard anything yet, I am on the alternate list or will be denied admission.

I am in the same boat, it's looking like wait list. Hopefully top part, the wait is driving me crazy though.

I am hoping for the same! The anticipation is killing me!

Has anyone else been accepted that is from out of the area? I'm from about 3 hours away and not sure what to do about housing. I'm currently looking for a roommate and have been searching for an apartment! If interested contact me!

Today I had to make a very difficult decision, but I have forfeited my spot for the Class of 2017. Best of luck to everyone and for those that are still waiting as I hope you hear great news coming your way very soon.

Has anyone heard anything recently? From what I understand they let everyone know by the 15th but the anticipation is killing me.

Waitlist #12, good luck to everyone else on the list

How long is the list and far down do they normally go? I know someone who was #18 2 years ago and did not get in.

I think the list is either 40 or 50 students long, and from what I understand they usually make it down to about 30 students off of the list (That of course varies by year). I actually just talked to a fourth year student who said in her acceptance year (2009) they made it much further down. The person who was #18 two years ago and did not make it worries me though, and I am just going by what I have heard from current and previous students so I could be wrong.

I I'm in the thirties on the waiting list and I email UC advisor and she told me last year the only made it to number 12 but she said the year before the list stopped on number 29 so it will be hard to say what this year will get to. The top 10 seem to be safe maybe the top 20. The only positive thing I can say is there are about 96 seats for the year and only 51 people already in the Facebook group. Well good luck either way.

I am #4 on the alternate list. When I checked a couple of weeks ago, they had not started accepting anyone yet. Has anyone heard anything recently? Is it odd for them to have not accepted anyone from the list at this date?

They haven't started taking anyone of the list yet as off june 29th.
