Oooohhh. The shelter medicine program is the absolute best program ever! I swear, I have never meet nicer people than the ones from the shelter program at Davis.

yeah, i definitely know what you mean. this is the school that i'm most blase when talking about with friends and family because i don't want to admit, even to myself, how devestated i will be if i get rejected.
 
Hey thanks ShelterURIGirl for your response! I'm glad to know finally what the verdict was so I don't have to waste time thinking about it. I guess I'll just try again next year!

I showed up to this party months ago and it only keeps on getting worse for me too!
 
it looks like last year... people started getting emails on friday the 21st... i wonder if they'll start sending them out this friday this year 😱
 
I thought that all of the emails (acceptance, waitlist and rejection) are sent out on the 23rd, is that not the case?
 
thats what they said last year too but if u look at old forums some people got emails on march 21st (a friday) butttt the 23rd was also on a sunday
 
The wait continues....but I don't know if I dare to read the e-mail when I actually receive it.....
Let's hope that everybody on the SDN gets good news!

I rearranged all the furniture in my house. Twice. Tomorrow I might paint an accent wall, always wanted to do that, or I might build a cat tree. Haven't decided yet.

So yeah, I'm totally freaking out.
 
note to self: reading last year's UC Davis thread is not a good solution for insomnia. 😛
 
I agree about it not helping the insomnia, especially since last year a couple SDN'ers heard back the Friday before the Monday they were told they would hear.

Ill be up all night studying for my last ochem final (Thank god!) so I'm sure I'll be OCD and check my email every 10 mintues after midnight

I had a dream two nights ago (right before I woke up) that I got an email saying that I was an alternate...when I woke up, I wasn't sure if it was real or not!
 
JustCats just posted that she got a decision today in a new thread. I haven't heard anything yet...anyone else???

So I didn't get in🙁🙁🙁 BUT I'm #1 on the alternate list. Is this the same as a rejection? Does the alternate list ever move at Davis? Help!!!

And just when I thought the waiting was over....

Wow...I'm shocked that you both have heard about the waitlist and yet no-one's posted about acceptances yet. Seems slightly weird to me...

I'm sorry to hear you both weren't accepted...but heck...waitlisted is better than rejected, for sure!

#1?? WOW!!! CONGRATULATIONS - I would consider that very good news
 
I'm either number 3 or number 4. Yasmine said she hadn't been prepared to give out numbers yet because they sent the letters sooner than she thought. They over-accepted by 9 people and one person has already declined admission. She said they historically have accepted between 10 to 16 people off the wait list, but I sort of think she was including the over-admits in the number-so 1 to 7 people if you pull those out.

Also, she said they have sent out wait list and rejection letters, so if you haven't heard from Davis yet, chances are good you're accepted. :luck:

There are usually several people that are accepted, but end up declining the invite and go to a different school. Chances are you will get in.

I have a REALLY hard time believing that...no matter how much I REALLY want to! I have a feeling they've sent out rejections, but not INTERVIEW people rejections. I don't know...I'm freaking out. I'm so jealous in a way that you guys already know your decisions (even if it means more waiting!). I just want a clue!
 
did yasmin specifically say that all rejected and waitlisted applicants hacve already been notified? Or they still have more to go?

I said, "Have you already sent out all of your emails?" Yasmine said, "Not acceptances. Just rejections and alternates."

Could she have misspoken? Possibly. Let's assume the best for now. Hang in there. :luck:

Interesting...I do think it is possible that rejections for interview people haven't gone out yet...but still...

I am guessing that since she said that acceptances haven't gone out yet and one person already declined, then that person was likely an out of state person that made their decision and withdrew their app before even receiving their decision? Would that be a fair guess?
 
It was definitely someone who withdrew their app last minute. I didn't ask OOS or IS.

Just Cats I am really pulling for you. How torturous! Atleast you are an alternate at your top 2 choices though!!

Thanks for the update too. I wonder though, if what she says is true (rejections/waitlists sent out already but not acceptances), how can there have been one person who turned down an acceptance already? Maybe someone withdrew their application before getting a letter? argh. who knows at this point.... looks like another 3 days of speculation 🙁

Thanks KittyRex. I know it's hard to beleive, but I'm really not worried about it. I'm happy I made it this far and I hope I'll get in, but I have plenty of things to keep me occupied if I have to reapply next year.

Looks like they are mixing it up this year. GOOD LUCK to all of you!!!!

And I know of at least two alternates who got in last year, so don't lose hope yet!
 
So my dream became a reality for me. I'm # 11 on the wait list (I was told they oversubscribed by 7, so I'll get a spot if 17 people turn them down). I'm really bummed because this essentially means I'm out :-(. I was told that they usually accept 7-15 off the waitlist, but I don't know if they usually oversubscribe.....Congrats to those closer on the waitlist!

At what time did you guys receive your waitlist emails?
 
When I talked to Yasmin she advised me to call back next week because ACCEPTANCES were going out today so she would know more by then. Maybe she mispoke, and I'm so sorry if I'm relaying false info, because I really (really, really) know how much the wait sucks.

I hope that means that all of you are getting good new this afternoon.

As fpr me...more waiting. Or maybe the smart thing to do is to pretend this is a rejection, get ready to go to my second choice school, and then fall over backwards and die of happiness if I do get bumped in. Sorry, I'm feeling a little melodramatic+pity+
 
No! Do not give in WildZooVet! I am still hoping for all of us SDNers to be classmates in the fall! I don't think it's impossible and neither should you! Keep positive thoughts coming!!!
