Hey Guys! I thought I should start one as others are old. I am applying for this cycle and waiting on one of my LOR's to be complete.
I actually have applied and interviewed at UCSD post bacc. I haven't heard anything though. Has anyone else heard anything from that school in particular?
Ya if anyone knows for sure what the deal with UCSD is please let us know. I heard they're not doing the consortium postbacc this year...are you talking about their other postbacc program then? Or did you get an interview for their postbacc through the UC consortium?
Is anyone pending like me? I'm getting a little jittery because today is the deadline and I don't know if my supporting documents(transcript, two recommendation letters) have been received...anyone know what happens exactly if they're not received by the deadline? I'm hoping they are not rigid with rejection as it says on the website and gives you a little room. It's so frustrating because I've sent my transcripts THREE times and I've asked for recommendation letters in January. I feel like I've done my part...
If you're talking about the new post-bacc pre-med program at UCSD, I talked to the director of the program last week and he said they were scheduled to get together this past Monday (the 8th) to make decisions. He said he expects decisions to be sent out starting this Friday the 12th. Fingers crossed!
im sure a lot of us have the same question.. where and how did you apply to ucsd's postbac program? a lot of us applied through the UC postbac consortium but said that UCSD's program is cancelled because of budget cuts but UCRiverside opened up to everyone (rather than just UCR alumni)
and im assuming its too late to apply to UCSD's program if there is one....?
I'm in sort of the same boat. I'm waiting on two of my letters of recommendation to be received. I gave the Consortium a call this morning, and they said as long as the letter is post-marked by today, it will be considered. One of my former professors has been hard to reach, and for this reason, I am unsure if he's sent it in--even after reminding him several times. So don't worry, you're not alone!
Thank you for replying, your message helped me so much!! I hope yours gets in!!! Some of them are so encumbered with projects, classes, research, etc it's so hard to reach them :/. I finally got through to one of my professors this morning and she forgot and is fedexing it today lolol. Btw, do you know or remember where the contact number is? I tried the one on the website and all it did was say "US Post baccalaureate consortium" and beeped for a message recording.
