I did a search on this, but didn't find a whole lot of info about the programs themselves and people's experiences.

Has anyone done one of these programs and how helpful did you find it in gaining admission to med school? I'm considering UCLA's reapplicant program and would like some advice.

I'm also looking at Georgetown's Special Master's Program. Reaction on GT has been extremely mixed.

BruinGold, I don't know if you know this but I think the UCLA reapplicant program is geared primarily towards the underserved and underrepresented population (as with most other post-bacc. at the UC's).

I met someone who went to UCI and he's now doing post-bac at UCD and I'm fairly certain he got into UCD this cycle.

JZZZZZZZs-- yes, I saw that is was mainly for people who are urm's or from an underserved community. AMCAS designated the community that I grew up in as underserved so I think I would qualify. I would have to check that out, though.

Moskeeto-- was he a urm or from an underserved community?

Uhm, I didn't talk with him enough to know if he was from an underserved community, but he was asian so thats a no on URM. I had a pamphlet about the program around here somewhere, but its gone, sorry.

Thanks for the info. I will contact Davis for an application. Hopefully, I can go to UCD if I can't do the UCLA program.

BruinGold, UCSF and UCI both have post-bacc. programs as well. Here's a link to Post-bacc. programs on the AAMC website. Hope it helps and good luck with your reapplication!

JZZZZZZZs-- thanks for the link!! 😀
