For those of us who have already interviewed, the only couple of people I have talked to are listed as "on hold". Has anybody heard any actual news from UC Irvine??? Post here or PM me please!!!
 
I interviewed 10/2/03 and was listed as "on hold" on 11/2/03.
 
I also interviewed at UCI the first week of October (along with SD, which I have already heard back from), but my status does not say "on hold." I did get a reply email from one of my interviewers who saids that the admissions committee is reviewing my file and I should get contacted by phone soon. I'm not sure what this means...but i'll let you know once i get more news.
 
Princeton, that sound like good news for you... Be sure to let me know, and Congrats if that is the case!
 
i interviewed 10/2 and my status is on hold as well =(
 
how long did it take you guys to hear back from uci once you had sent back the secondary? i just sent mine back and am wondering if i should expect a long wait or not.... thanks 🙂
 
I got the invite about a week after sending back the secondary, but I sent in the secondary back in mid-sept, so things might have been slower then. Good luck to you, I loved UCI after interviewing there, it's a great school.
 
I got the invite about 3-4 weeks after submitting, so don't worry right away. I submitted the secondary in late July.
 
Anyone else with status about UCI?
 
So is being "ON HOLD" for an interview bad? Is it their slow and painful way of saying that they're rejecting me?

Anyone gotten an interview after being on hold?

being on hold before an interview is ok. it means you might get an interview later but they are not offering one at the moment. uci interviews all the way until march or april. i was placed on hold in november probably, invited to interview late feb, interviewed in march, got waitlisted in may or maybe even june, got in in july, and am now a first year at uci.

being on hold after an interview is what is probably not so good (but i was placed on hold and eventually got in). i'm not sure how they are doing it this year, but most of the people in that category last year after an interview were waitlisted or let in around may 15th. uci doesn't let in that many people until after may 15th. i'm not sure if uci rejects post-interview.

Has anyone heard from UCI post-secondary lately? I've been complete for nearly 3 months now and still 'pending review'. From what I understand no one has been rejected post-secondary yet. Every day that goes by I get the sinking feeling that not hearing anything for this long means that my application is sitting in a 'reject' pile somewhere waiting for someone to get around to sending out the official rejections.
 
I interviewed at uci in early october and when i recently checked my status, it said "on hold" under the alternate category. being a little paranoid, i called them to ask what this meant and they basically said my file was still under review (ie they hadnt made any decisions about that first interview group) and that they would make those decisions in 2-3 weeks. just to calm some of you who may be anxious like me 🙂

i was curious about what "on hold" meant too. i thought it meant i had been waitlisted... =)

For those who have interviewed at UCI (and wrote a PM to me), my status page does not say "on hold" post-interview. I did manage to email my interviewer who said that UCI should be contacting me soon.
 
Just so no one is freaked by princetonrock's wonderful post, my status DID say "on hold" under alternate and they let me in today so....yeah..there is hope..dont fret if it does say that- it doesnt mean youre waitlisted, just that theyre still reviewing your app.
 
man, i wish i could have an interview at uci! i'm still "review in process"--aaaah!

I was complete at the end of August and it still says pending review. I think this means they haven't even looked at my completed file. Everyone says apply early it'll help you out. The hell with that. 10 weeks and they haven't even looked at it.

For those of you who got interviews at UCI, what were you SAT, MCATs numbers?
 
SAT? Those don't matter for med school admissions anymore 🙂
 
my gpa is 3.82 and mcat is 39 - i interviewed october 2nd and am waiting to hear back

anybody else besides somekevinguy heard from UCI post-interview?

I was complete on 10/15 and I'm in state too... hmm, could it be?!? My dream will soon come true?

they tried to call me but i wasnt home (thats what they said in the email they sent me) so...the answer to your question i guess would be both.

it's def nice to have a decent cali school i can go to and while i can say id honestly be happy there, im not sure i can say i will be there for sure...im definitely wating on some schools and even with the ones that have been kind enough to let me in, itd still be a tough decision.

I was complete on 10/20 too, and my application status is still "pending review". You must have either been such a superstar that they flagged your app for speedy processing or VERY LUCKY!! Anyhow, congrats!
 
any more acceptances from the october interview people? im waiting still too anyone have info from the admissions office? thanks.

it was around oct 12 or 13, so that would make it slightly over.
 
By some miracle they looked at my file and now it says review in process. Does anyone know how long it takes for a decision to be made.
 
so i just checked my status today and under final decision it says "mailed 11/26." before, it said "on hold" under the alternate column. is this a good thing or a bad thing? do i assume rejection since if i got in, it would say accepted or something?
for those who got into uci, what did it say for you?

My status page is the same as raincrew's. I just got a call today too.

i was on hold for like a week or so. but i think, like someone posted earlier on this thread, that it just means that they're currently reviewing your file.
