UCI "On Hold" For Interview

me neither...no rejection via snail mail or email and my status page still says "on hold." i had been emailing Dr. Peterson as well, so who knows? these people (aka..all med schools) need better (and faster) communication methods

did you send Dr. Pertterson an email to ask about your status? or just another letter of interest [intent] begging for an interview??

The last email I sent her was on Tuesday, I believe and she had replied saying that she had put my letter in my file and it was under review.

Hi, I was on the hold list at UCI since October, and I really was not expecting to hear anything from them. Then...I got an email on March 5th offering me an interview on March 14( last monday).

Here's the bad news...when you are there, some students interviewed at the hospital, and need to take the shuttle to get there. Gayle Pierce, the lady in charge, told the lady who drove the shuttle that that Monday was the last full interview day, and she will no longer need the shuttle. I think they are still interviewing for the special programs, like the PRIME-LC (working with the Latino community), but I think that's it for regular interview. 🙁

I just interviewed at UCI for regular MD on 3/22, with 5-6 other students. I was also on hold before receving an interview. So 3/14 wasn't the last day and perhaps they are still interviewing.

Thanks. I wrote a letter of interest and hadn't heard anything, so I talked to someone in the Admissions Office who requested I write an appeal directly to Gayle, even though I was on hold status. I wrote an appeal, and on May 9 or 10, Gayle called me on the phone and informed me of the interview and scheduled it on the phone for May 22 as I was out of town the week before that. Let me know if you have any other questions. If you haven't already I would write an appeal, because the admissions office told me when your application is rereviewed, applications with appeals tend to get looked at more closely.
