Hello, I am in need of some advice. I got into UCI for pharmaceutical sciences and UCD for pharmaceutical chemistry. The problem is that I don't know which school to pick. I am leaning toward UCD because I want to further from home and to gain new experiences. However, the major requirement at UCD does not include as many pharmaceutical classes as UCI. Do you guys think this matters?

UCI pharmaceutical major is very limited in classes as they only offer physiology, speech. However, it is open to other major to take. Thus, it is wiser to major in Biology to take/finish all your pharm school pre req and then take Speech from the pharmaceutical departments. Once you are a pharm major at UCI, you are limited to the classes you can take from Bio department (yes they are two different departments.).

UCI now has the anatomy with lab, so all your pharm pre req can be finished.

Also majoring in General Biology or Biochemistry you have more options to choose other fields of study if pharmacy does not work out. Judging how bad it is and how most recent graduate have to work at 2 different retail stores and drive 1-2 hrs a day for their work or rent a room near their work place, you "might" want to consider your career after you find out more about it.
