i know this is an acceptance thread...just wanted to ask if there have been any ucla interview invites offered recently? thanks

I think WEEKS!?!...so i ask if my file has already been reviewed by the adcom and she says that yes, it's complete and is/has been reviewed by the adcom, and they will be making a decision.....I KNOW THIS MUST BE A REJECT and just don't want to give that out over the phone...

hmm...this season's been great...

Same thing happened to me. I called the admissions office last week and they said that the committee has my file. (I didn't ask if it has been reviewed yet.) She told me that they should have a decision in a couple of weeks. However, I got tired of waiting and called my interviewer. She told me that she hasn't seen my file. I think that the, "couple of weeks" answer is a generic answer and they tell that to everyone. Anyways, good luck, and keep us posted.

Hey y'all...Got accepted last week (interviewed March 10)...I am wondering if anyone with an acceptance has been made a scholarship offer yet...

Nope. Try digging in this thread, cause I think I remember someone saying that scholarships would be taken care of by the middle or end of May. Remember that UCLA is a public school though, so besides the standard Regents' Scholarships, I doubt there are many (any?) other general merit scholarships available.

edit: by general I mean not restricted to certain economic/racial/etc. sub groups.
 
My app status finally changed today, but there was no box to check to RSVP for Recruitment Day...so either I can hope that I'm on the unranked waitlist or I can be realist and start preparing myself for the upcoming rejection. Normally, I'm an optimist. Unfortunately, this process has got me somewhat jaded and I now lean towards the side of realism, which others might term pessimism. **sigh**

Same here, letter sent but no info on page. Maybe the RSVP box will magically appear later? Please. The final wait begins.

La Sonadora and xxbruinxx and JohnyWalker did any of you interview with the members of the disadvantage committee. Isn't Dr. Isabel-Jones an adcom member of the disadvantage committee???

What do you mean find out? Oh, if you applied disadvantage then our interviewer most likely was from the diadvantage committee.

I also applied as a disadvantaged app. My interview was 2/23, status change today, and I also had no link on my page.

what i meant was who are the other faculty that are on this committee...i wanted to know if the person who interviewed me is or not, b/c it never explicitly came up...not that it matters i guess
 
Hey guys. I also applied disadvantaged and status changed today but no link. I wonder if that means we have been rejected or waitlisted. Whatever it is, we'll find out soon. good luck. or is it too late for that?
 
it seems so far that this committee is the one that's acting up...whatever that means, hopefully it's all acceptances

I think the pdf link would have appeared if you are currently a ucla student. No non ucla students have reported seeing such a link if they were accepted... So good luck to you all.

Sorry to bear bad news, but...I did not go to ugrad at UCLA, and I saw links to an acceptance letter from the Dean and the Recruitment Day schedule when my status changed. I was accepted.

From what I understand, if you apply as a disadvantaged app, then you will have the disadvantaged app committee.
 
Hey I applied disadvantaged too, and my status has changed!!!!!!! Oh god waiting for the mail to reach connecticut is going to be torture. Good luck :luck: :luck: :luck:

And you also received an email telling you that you were accepted, correct? MD/PHd students are different. No other student has reported a link to an acceptance letter. mchou stated there was a status change date and that down below she had a link to pdf recruitment letter, but she is a ucla student. So keep the hope alive. If a non ucla, non md/phd student reports what bluntman is reporting in regards to the recruitment day stuff then we are in serious doooodoooo..

Yea the email was MSTP-specific, but the attachment links that became visible on the status page are both solely about MD-only business. It is, however, certainly possible that there is an extra button/check-box that someone has to activate in order to make those visible, separate from whatever they have to do to make the "final decision letter sent" activate.

This is seriously killing me!!!! Are there any non-ucla, non MD/Phd kids out there that had a status change today with a link? Why do they have to torture us like this? I hate dodo.
 
i am a ucla undergrade, no link on my status change page, called today and was told that i had a letter coming for me. I was like "letter or package?" the lady said letter. So i know what you are thinking. I dont look good right now. But i guess it means i might be ending up on the easst coast. AECOM here i come!!!! i think

All UCLA decisions are in a small thin letter envelope, regardless of acceptance/rejection/waitlist.

So, after my status changed today, I couldn't take it anymore. I called the admissions office and was really honest with them. I appologized for bugging them but I also told them UCLA was my first choice and that I had to know what kind of a letter to expect from them. The lady said that I was going to recieve an "Alternate List" letter. At least now I don't have to wait for that thin envelope.
 
Good luck to all of today's status change applicants. Try not to overthink this whole process. Just keep good thoughts going. It looks like you are all from the same (disadvantaged student) subcommittee and the last time that a subcommittee reported, I believe, it was all acceptances. So try not to get too worked up about the absence of the link, especially since it appears that you ALL are without the link. Unless someone reports in with a status change today WITH a link, I think you should all remain positive. It will be good news. :luck: :luck: :luck:

yes it was today and since i live right around the corner from ucla, it should be here soon. Heck, they should have called me to come pick it up.

Man, you have major balls. I am so tempted to do that tomorrow. I was wondering- did you apply as a disadvantaged student? It seems like the batch from today is all disadvantaged applicants.
 
just fyi guys, i got a status change on 4/5/06 and i'm not a disadvantaged applicant.
so did ANYONE with a status change on 4/5/06 get a link to the recruitment day form?
so, either this is a mixed batch and they didn't give anyone a link, or we're all waitlisted/rejected.

i interviewed on Jan. 25th
i am/was a ucla student (graduated this past December)....so if this is whole link thing is true for *current* ucla students, i'm hoping it didn't show up b/c i just finished...

either that or it's down the drain for me...

DUDE...I was just browsing the internet and I saw the UCLA acceptance forum went up, came up and saw ppl have a status change. Checked mine...I HAVE A STATUS CHANGE TOO!!! AH~~~
and I interviewed on 03/16!
 
i'm so jealous that some of you march interviewees are hearing already...can you imagine having to wait since January??

in any case, status has changed, so we'll see

Don't give up yet! For the record, I finished at UCLA in September, and I did get the recruitment day link on the same day as my decision letter date, 3/28/2006. In my panic, I called the lady at admissions as well and she told me it was a glitch in the system and it shouldn't appear until after I received my letter. Perhaps because I made her aware of said glitch, she got it fixed before the next batch was sent out? Does that make sense? That's what I'm hoping for all of you! :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

mchou, thanks for being so encouraging...I really hope that "glitch" was fixed before our batch went out! I guess we'll find out next week sometime (at least that's what I'm thinking...I live in so-cal, but it seems like UCLA mail takes forever to get out)...good luck all! :luck:

I second mchou's thoughts... I bet they fixed the glitch immediately and I wouldn't be worried... :laugh:
