If your status on the UCLA website says "Final decision letter sent" and you have not received an interview...is this letter your rejection or an invitation for an interview...im almost + its a rejection, but just wanted to check with you guys who may have experience with this.

Its most likely a rejection if you have not received a secondary from them!

I am from Clovis/Fresno, so when I hear Davis I think Bay Area more so than Central Valley... unless you know of a med school in Fresno I am unaware of 😕 just kidding..

I dunno whether there's actually any correlation between complete date and status change, but I was complete on 9/25 and have yet to hear about an interview. my status page hasn't changed yet. Yup, central valley is UCD where I did my undergrad work. Have you got in anywhere? I have nothing but a string of waitlists. I seem to have a strange quality in me that makes the idea of waitlisting me appealing to schools. Oh, as well as rejections, of course. How is that Berkeley education working for you on this journey?

Waitlists suck. But depending on the schools you still have a great shot at moving off the waitlist and getting accepted.

It helped me get a job at UCSF-Fresno in research, other than that... its just a degree that's in my closet!

yeah, called home to confirm that the letter was a rejection and not just a mistake. sucks. 👎 i got secondaries and rejections from every single UC, i wonder what it is about me they dislike so much!!

is there still hope if we don't see any status change on our page? i am starting to think UCLA forgot about me again...I didn't get a secondary until October (submitted AMCAS in June!) and I think most of the interview spots are scheduled through April. They are definitely stringing me along...but that's ok if there is still a chance, however slim it may be. does anyone know if they are still giving out interview invites and/or the dates that they are now scheduling?

I'm still waiting to hear anything... should i really call the school? They seem to omit their phone # from everything (website, mail, etc). When I was invited for a secondary, the letter mentioned something about a preliminary review taking place until Feb... does anyone have an idea what might be happening to my app? Has anyone called admissions about stuff like this?

Edit: I checked out their website and it says that interviews are offered until the end of March, and conducted through April.

I think I am borderline since I haven't been rejected or interviewed yet, but I really just want to interview! Is there anything I can do (writing a letter) that could help my chances?

Call them, I'm at work right now but their number is in the Medical School Guide type books. Mistakes happen, and at least you will know if they are in fact still interviewing.

My status finally changed to Final Decision Letter sent... guess that's another rejection... I was also waitlisted today... i feel so rejected... I was accepted to the top undergrad school in cali and 4 years later... rejected by all med schools... the bitterness is definitely settling in..

I feel ya.. all I have left is UCI. And I almost feel as though had I interviewed and been waitlisted I still would be in the same position with no acceptance.. so it doesn't bother me that much any more- unless I think about it 😡 .

I checked again...my status changed and I was offered an interview!!!!!!!!!!! oh my gosh wow. (sorry I am freaking out to all of you on SDN.)

Has anyone actually received their final decision letter recently? My status says that the letter was sent March 6. I live in california and have not received anything yet.

I received status change on Monday (3/13) so have yet to hear. It seems like it takes awhile from status change to letter received, but most of the sdners who had 3/7 status change seemed to have heard last week. Don't remember anyone having a 3/6 change though.

Hey, I'm in LA on break right now, but my mailing address is in NY. Does anyone have an idea of what the general trend is for the 3/7 batch? I should be relaxing, but UCLA has got the best of me.

Most of those seemed to be waitlist/hold, but since UCLA is still interviewing, I am hoping that there are still acceptances coming out. It seems like the Californians heard last week. There is another thread on SDN where some of the 3/7 batch responded, but I think it was only a handful of responders so it probably doesn't represent the whole batch. Good luck.
