UCLA letters sent out--Check Status Page

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
for those of you that are accepted... are any of you ucla undergrads? If so, try logging into ursa (professional school). Does it look any different?

formally withdrew my app from geffen today. hope that helps someone out there out! 😀

My URSA page has something about statement of intent to register (SIR). I already sent in the letter saying I accept their acceptance. Am I supposed to do this SIR too, or is that not until I am sure 100% I'm going to attend?

for all you guys who had interviews at UCLA, how long did it take for them to get back to you? I submitted my request last Thursday and I still haven't heard back even though I put I'm around the area and I would take the first available interview date.

Thanks

i was in the same situation and i put my preferred date was "ASAP" and they got back to me within 2 days i think. good luck!

Thanks a lot Texas!

Where are you going to be going next year? (and congratulations in advance)

yeah, i logged on last week and it says:

Admission
David Geffen School of Medicine
Fall 2008
Drew/UCLA Program

at the top. and that was a great surprise! it just feels more official!! i clicked on the "accept your offer of admission," but there were no SIR and SLR forms. i'm sure they will be up later. its still early.

good luck to everyone!!!

UCLA through the UCLA/Drew Program

Figured it's all the same, so why possibly hold up two spots. Plus, I like the explicit commitment to the undeserved and the small group atmosphere I would get within the larger Geffen class.

So I've called and withdrawn from the main Geffen program and also sent my withdrawal in writing.

Best of luck to everyone else still waiting!

Congratulations, TexasMD2B! (though a delayed congrats, since you've known these for awhile) 🙂

were interview invites via email??

Those who got accepted, congrats!, and can you please tell me what is shown on your status page in front of "Final Decision Letter"?

If there's an indication there, how long after it appeared did you receive your acceptance letter?

It said "Letter Sent" on a Friday, letter arrived Tuesday afternoon.

They have the option to withdraw, even after you complete the SIR. Hope that helps~!

I received an interview invite last week, and the admissions office assigned me an interview date at the end of March. UCLA is one of my top choices, but I am hesitant to spend even more money (second look funds) if I'm going to be interviewing for a waitlist spot. Anybody know if UCLA fills their class by the end of March? I read some previous posts, and it seems like there are conflicting ideas going around regarding this issue.

just called and told next batch comes out on march 15th ....

Is it true that they need your transcript before they make a decision? How long does it take to show up on your transcript page that it's been received?

According to AAMC recommendations, all schools must make enough acceptance offers to fill their class by March 30.

Plus, I'm sure that they want to have a good number of students holding acceptances in time for second look weekend on April 19th.

darn, from previous years' threads it looks like the second batch is rejections/waitlists.

that sucks...

noooo, dont say that. i hope it isnt following last years trend. is anyone brave enough to call and ask if these decisions are sorted into WL/Rejection?
they have not accepted enough for the march 30 deadline though, so maybe a glimmer of hope?🙁🙁🙁

Hi Neurofreak, can you link the thread you're talking about.

still not too familiar with SDN so not sure how to find it.

Thanks!

I called today and the lady said we can expect acceptances, waitlists and rejections after the 15th. She said they'll be sending out letters the 15th of every month. I don't know why this year is so different than the previous years when they sent letters every week. Here's to more waiting!

FutureMd

Thanks for doing the dirty work.

I can't take this much longer. I just WANT TO KNOW! Even if its a rejection or waitlist, I just want to stop thinking about UCLA and move on.

Damn you UCLA damn you! Anyone else feeling this way?

heyy, i just searched for last years thread ( it's called something like "Happy January 15th UCLA") and it was mentioned in there somewhere (not sure what page it was on, but it was towards the end).

Damn, I wonder what interviews will be considered for the March 15th letters. I interviewed in early February, but they're still not showing that my transcript was received. I don't want to wait until April 15th. 🙁

Yes, feeling exactly the same way. Hopefully we'll be in this next batch! I need to know if I should start buying bruin or trojan gear. Don't they realize that they're keeping me from making these important life decisions??

haha...sigh don't go the way of the red and yellow (yea I know its supposed to be two other elitist colors) but I call a spade a spade.

I'm assuming you got into USC, and if so you lucky bastard (and I say that in the kindest way that I can) : )

I just want to come home to sunny So-Cal but I guess that might have to wait another 4 years.

Good Luck to you too!

I think they wanted your transcript before you interview. So, I'm guessing you would need it before they make a final decision. It took 2 days for mine to show up, but I hand delivered mine.

wow, congrats on all the amazing interviews and acceptances!! what's ur top choice so far?

Thanks~! I'm amazed as well that I got in to such awesome places. I am 95% sure I will be going to UCLA due to family circumstances. However, I'm still keeping my options open for UCB/UCSF cuz it's a great program. Good luck with UCLA. Hope you hear good news from them soon!

Cheers~!

I thought they needed them post-interview. at least thats what they told me. it took about 2 days to post.

thanks for doing that--at least i can stop refreshing my status page now.
i dont know how much more of this i can take...UCLA is one of my top "choices"
luck to all:luck:

I called today because I had the transcript issue too.

They want the transcript at some point if you are accepted. The decision (a/w/r) is made independent of your transcript, unless you submit your transcript as an update for your file.

Therefore, if you haven't heard back yet and you didn't give them your Fall Quarter/Semester grades (via e-mail or snailmail), then you can give it to them as an update. However, they said its unlikely if you are submitting an official transcript that it will affect any decision that is being made by March 15th.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I can now feel less stressed about whether they have received my transcript or not!

I sent in a letter of intent earlier this week. it got there on tuesday. i wonder if it will effect my decision if i am in the next batch...

dude. March 17th is St. Patrick's Day. I really hope they send it the 14th & that I get it the 17th. Earlier I hoped that David Geffen would be my valentine, but I think the lucky 17th is more meant to be. Who's with me? I feel as though I should be more patient and not try to figure out destiny...
:luck:

I hope the 17th is a lucky day--
when did you interview?
I went mid-December, so I hope i get a response this time around. :luck:

November for me. I just hope I get a positive response...I'll wait another month if that means better news 😛

Also waiting on DGSOM. Though, I think a rejection letter from UCLA and St. Patty's day would be a dangerous mix.

random question...anybody waiting on UCLA get a Certiphi background check e-mail today?

No- did you?
:luck::luck:

yeah, but it was most likely because i recently got into northwestern and they're one of the participating schools. still, just wanted to see if any other people waiting on UCLA got one....

bummmmpppppppp

anyone else super nervous about what the coming days may or may not bring us?

P.S. sorry i always break the rules and don't just "bump"
