I think that I have decided that I prefer the UCR/UCLA program to UCLA straight due to the 24-person class size and the fact that we have actual dissection in anatomy lab, so I think there will be one less person on the waitlist.

I really like the program, but really didnt like the MMI. I am a little concerned that its a pilot year as well...but other than that, I would do it!

i Finally saw the British man. He seems nice but very tired (I don't know why). Now I can put a face behind the accent. He told me the same thing (about 200 ppl in unranked waitlist). Then he gave me a look like he pitied me. Well... it's ok because I pity me too. At least he tried to look sympathetic. Oh and they are still interviewing ppl.

no i dont think so, i think its only for those who have not received a final decision letter. the waitlist movement is usually much later i think...

it took me a while to withdraw since i loved ucla as an undergrad, but i decided that a change might be nice 🙂

I'm about a week under the 2 month mark, so now i'm wondering if they won't let me know on the 15th of april, and i'll have to wait til may. 🙁

I <3 people who withdraw from UCLA! Good Luck and Congrats to wherever else you go! Everyone who withdraws from UCLA brings me one step closer to me dream! (I'm sticking with the cheesy posts theme)

Also, I've been thinking about sending an update letter, and there are many things I could include that I've done since my secondary application. However, I discussed the large majority of these things in my interview so I'm not sure if it's necessarily an update. What do you guys think?

If you're on the waitlist, do it!

If you haven't received a decision yet, I'd just wait since acceptances are mailed out in a week. It's probably too late for the letter to do anything for you now. If you get accepted next week, then you won't have to write the letter.

Well 5/15 is the deadline we have to get it down to one acceptance and since they only release acceptances on the 15th, I assume the last batch of acceptances will be released on 4/15.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one with that kind of logic! 🙄 I keep hoping that I'll hear something soon....but don't know exactly when that will be. To keep myself from going to crazy with possible false answers to my own questions, I just don't even call the admissions office to ask....I just watch for SDN posts like yours and ask current UCLA students that I meet about what they know and theorize from it (probably not the best idea, but whatever, this process drives us all a bit crazy). If I see any change I'll be sure to post, and I trust that you'll do the same! I hope that we both see something soon!🙂

No idea what the next batch will be. When I applied two years ago, I received a letter saying I was on the dreaded "HOLD" list around April 15, and if I recall correctly, it was a mixed bag of decisions that went out then.

Hey MsJLewis, Congrats! My guess would be that its an acceptance too if they're asking you to RSVP for Recruitment Day. You must just be thrilled to see that status change. I know that I would be.
