I was trying to find previous forums regarding UCLA med school tips but only found dental school ones!

I just found out today that I have to interview TOMORROW! Since it's this late in the game, I'm not so sure what my chances of getting accepted are, but I was wondering if any of you have advice for the interview. Thanks!

The interview day is sparse. It's basically an interview + lunch. They say you may have a faculty interview and student interview and if you only get a faculty interview, don't worry. I got in with only a faculty interview. Just be yourself and enjoy. They don't give stress interviews at UCLA. Good luck!

i haven't interviewed yet but if you haven't had the chance to already, it would be helpful to check interview feedback under the databases link. good luck tomorrow! (i'll be interviewing there later this week too)

It is really no different from any other interview in terms of the faculty interview. The day tends to be short and the tour is very cursory so you won't be able to see as much as you would at other schools. I didn't get a student interview, but it seems that few people do.

There really aren't any special tips to provide. A faculty interview depends a lot on the interviewers personality and medical specialty. I had a friendly FP and detected early on that she wasn't terribly interested in detailed explanations about my research, so I didn't talk about it as much as you would think one might at a top research university, but we ended up talking about other things like movies, travel, etc. Just relax, be yourself, try to gauge the interviewers personality and interests early on and do your best. Good luck.
