So I transferred from a CC with one quarter of O-Chem which counted as 30AL, 30A, and 30BL (20A/20B/20L completed). I am taking 30B right now but wanted to know if 30C/30CL are necessary for most dental schools that require one year of O-Chem and lab. I talked to my departmental counselor and she said that 30A and 30B with labs counted for my one year of O-Chem, but it didn't make sense since the ADEA handbook says 8/12 Semester/Quarter units of O-Chem and 30A/30B would only be 8 units in quarter. I know some schools don't require a full year of O-Chem but for the ones that do, will 30A/B with labs be enough or will I have to take 30C and 30CL?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm in a similar situation and I corresponded with several dental schools about the classes. They basically told me that I didn't have enough units and that I would need to take 30C and 30CL to meet the requirements. Schools in question were Western, Columbia and USC. You can try emailing the schools you're interested in, but you will probably get the same answer for the ones that need 1 year of ochem. It's a poop situation, considering my counselor also told me that 30B would be enough. I'm currently taking the second semester of ochem at a CC just to fulfill that 0.5 or 1 unit that I'm missing +pity+
