I would take 32A and 33A and Stats 13...Actually, that's what I did! I've heard horror stories about 32B, and most people skip it anyways. I took the classes over three years ago (freshman year), but it didn't seem that bad. The worst part is that none of the professors speak English. The best part is that because they don't speak English, class was a waste of time, so I never went. The 3 series is supposed to be easier than the 30 series because it's mostly for life science majors, but I don't think there's much difference. If you're strong in math, go for the 30 series. If you like having class at 8am, go for the 3 series. You can also take the classes during summer - there are usually english speaking professors (from what I found) who are usually pretty chill. Btw, isn't 3C the same as 32A?
For the writing requirement, I would take Scand 50W (I think that's the number). It's supposed to be pretty easy. I took a classics class called English Vocabulary...I'm not sure if it will fulfill English requirements because it's not a W class, but I thought it was interesting. I saved two of my English classes for Senior year (and English 3 during Freshman year). If you're a science major, it's kind of nice to have one non-science class...although if you have to write a lot of research papers in your science classes, don't take English at the same time - too much writing.
Regarding the one year requirements, 1 year of english is required by a large majority of the schools, but math is required by only a few schools I applied to. Check MSAR if you're deciding whether or not to take a year of math.
