For the few of you out there waiting on UCONN--I finally got word today by mail. I got in! The letter was dated 6/21, so if you're still waiting, you should hear something very very soon. Good luck!

My stats for those curious:
Undergrad GPA: 3.67 (most competitive liberal arts school, transferred there from an ivy league university, non-science major)
Science GPA: 3.78
3 post-grad certificates in different alternative medicine modalities
one year of postbac classes done (general chem/bio)
one year volunteer experience at hospital
some volunteer research experience
no MCAT yet

Got into these post-bac programs as well (didn't apply to any others):
Yale
Hunter/CUNY
Columbia
Manhattanville
still waiting on NYU

Hey Lawnboy, thanks for info and congrats! I'm planning on apply for entrance to uconn A in spring 07 - just curious - during the interview or in your letter did it mention anything about a conditional offer to the med school?

congratulations!!!

Hey Bob--my student interviewer (you usually have one med school faculty member interviewer and one student interviewer) said that conditional acceptance is only granted to minority students. Didn't say anything about it in my letter--I'm not a minority.

Apparently, 85% of of the post-baccers go on to the medical school, with the other 15% going on to other medical schools. They had 300 post-bac applicants for this coming fall. 20 or so were granted interviews. I'd love to know exactly how many got in--my interviewer said that the acceptance rate is lower than the medical school, which puts it at about 12. In essence, they want to be confident that the ones they accept will be successful med school applicants.

I'll be glad to answer any more questions that I can...this is the kind of stuff I would have loved to know a few months ago. Good luck!
