Their site is ambiguous, i called the school and that was no help... what have you guys done when the app says....

"Use the space provided"

The boxes scroll to infinity and beyond. When i called UCSD, the lady made it seem like they only see what is inside the box... once it scrolls, they don't see it. But i couldn't really tell cuz all she kept repeating to me was, "Just use the box".

please please please share what you guys have done for this section. Should i write paragraphs or use bullet points like a resume? Dare i go into scrolling territory?

thank you kindly and g'luck !

When you submit, regardless of the scrolling, everything comes up onto one page. There is no length for the essays, so you can write as much as your heart desires, but note the adcoms don't want to read long, extended essays. You should write it as if you're writing an essay/paragraphs for each of the sections. Also note that there is no formatting, so you cannot really do anything to your statement of purpose essay to distinguish between paragraphs. I was frustrated because of that, but its okay, just submit anyway.

So you mean they limit in one page? Every thing longer than one page will be cut out?

Ok, I think rycetrix is mistaken. This is how I interpreted the instructions.

The personal statement can be as long as you need to answer it. That is why it scrolls infinitely.

The short answer questions are limited to the size of the box. Keep your answers short enough such that no scroll bar appears.

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

I meant one WEBSITE page. Not an actual word document one page. Apologies for the misconception.
