I have an interview at UCSD in Feb., and today I received an invite from USC, but it's on the same day as the UCSD interview. I know I won't be able to change the UCSD one since they specifically stated only medical reasons will be accommodated.

I was wondering if anyone has/had this same dilemma? I'm planning to contact USC first thing next week, but I am not sure if they will let me re-schedule (they will probably frown upon it.) If they don't, I guess I will have to choose between the two, which is too bad.

Anyone with the same problem, or any advice?

Thanks.

Don't worry about what UCSD's letter says, if you call them and say you have another interview that day they will change it. I had to do that last year, no questions asked, no problems

Yes, based on TrojanAntEater's advice, I rescheduled because I was in the same situation as you. However, you should remember USC is rolling admissions. They will accept/reject you ~4 wks after your interview, whereas the UC schools interview randomly and let everyone know their status at the same time.

Blizz, did you already have your interviews? Was UCSD nice about rescheduling? And if you already interviewed, just out of curiosity did you like UCSD or USC better?

Thanks to TrojanAntEater for your advice.

I interviewed at USC Jan 21st, my interview for UCSD is Feb 6th. UCSD was very accomodating to reschedule, just tell them you have an interview conflict with another school. I was given 2 dates to choose from because they had space available, not sure if they will have space open for future interview dates, so you might want to check on that. Good luck!
