Hi folks,
Has anybody sent a graduation certificate that certifies that BDS degree was conferred on the student on a specific date in the school's official sealed envelope. When I checked with Ms Mary Pham, she said that when UCSF refers to Official transcripts on their application checklist page, they are actually referring to the transcripts which not only report the scores and number of hours in different disciplines but also report that a BDS degree was conferred on the student on a specific date just like how a diploma certificate states. My official transcript from my dental school doesnot state anything about a BDS being conferred. It just states that the particular student passed the final year BDS exam on the specific date along with the grades and scores and hours . When I brought this to Ms Pham's attention she said that passing final year BDS exam doesnot mean that a degree was conferred. So she said the officlal transcripts from the dental school must also include something similar to the dental diploma which states that a BDS degree was conferred on that student. Since my officlal transcript doesnot include that, she asked me to request my school to issue a graduation certificate in a sealed envelope and that I should then mail it to UCSF. If those of you who received application completion status from UCSF could throw some light whether you sent anything like this to UCSF with your application, that would be helpful.
thanks
