I was rejected as well. Don't give up! You will be accepted into the school thats meant for you. Your DAT scores are great! & Im sure the rest of your application is on point. Don't let the GPA get to you! You got this 😊

I have a lot of volunteer activities ( >500 hours in an underserved community among other volunteer work) and I was rejected.

I have 500 shadowing hours, 700 DA hours, 300 research hours, abroad dental mission trip. 300 volunteer hours but only in one place, and I think they’re looking for variety and work in underserved communities which I don’t have. Just my guess :/

i think you got rejected bc youre out of state and they favor instate students. Also they are reducing their class size this cycle so that leaves room for less oos.

they do favor california residents but not as heavily as other state schools. with them decreasing their class size this year they may favor instate more, i’m not sure. i just don’t want you to think personally there was anything wrong with ur app because you never know the demographic dental schools are trying to fulfill.

So I got the application complete email from them on July 21. It said my application "will soon be submitted for review" and that "the review process can take 6-8 weeks before a decision is reached." I still have not heard anything from them since then so I'd assume it'd have to relatively soon for people who got the email around the same time I did.

I have been checking this kind of thread for every schools that I’ve applied to and feeling really worried too. Glad to see people on the same boat

Yes I applied mid july and got the email today. I think they send out in batches if you don’t get anything yet don’t lose hope.

Rejected today. Sad to hear, and it seems they don’t offer advice on how to better your application.

YES! I feel the same way. i had a school tell me they were behind because of transitioning back to in person

Also just got rejected. Feeling kind of depressed but we must stay positive! There is still hope for other schools!

I really want to know how they make these decisions.

wow😮 this is crazy! i have no idea what they’re looking for. maybe they assumed you would go to ucla, i would email them back and ask why they rejected you and maybe if they would reconsider your app. you deserve better, good things will come your way dont worry!

ucsf drastically reduced their number of seats this year
with your stats, you will get into plenty of schools
