UF Pharmacy Application Cycle

No idea how you guys did sooo well on the quantitative. It's KILLING ME... Anyways I went to the open house in October and they said they like high composites and if you are in the 60s composite range, they want to see consistent 60s in all areas. You shouldn't worry if you are anything above 60. My GPA is relatively average 2.9 according to pharmcas and I got a 50 composite on my first try and taking it again on thursday (like previously mentioned math is raping me). So after seeing all of this i deciided not to even bother doing my supplemental. I keep getting emails from Mary beth saying they are very interested but I think its a generic email and I'm not even going to bother. Good Luck to you all! If i can recommend a campus, the Orlando campus i hear is GORGEOUS and as a bonus you got Disney and universal/islands of adventure nearby 🙂
 
Interview offer received today for the Orlando Campus!! 🙂
The interview is scheduled for December 6th in Orlando.

I got an interview invite today as well for Gainesville assigned to the st.pete campus! So excited! Are there any good threads for interview feedback?
 
Don't lose your hope. I saw someone with GPA 2.88 got three interviews.
 
Question. I will be done with my prerequisites this winter. Should I enjoy my summer off before pharmacy school, or take Microbiology?

(Biochemistry and Immunology are not offered at my school)

UF doesn't require Microbiology so I wouldn't worry about it...I know I will not take it if I get accepted to UF (unless they tell me otherwise!)
 
Hey i got an email stating that my interview date changed. I was originally assigned to G-ville on Nov 29th but I guess since I'm assigned to Orlando I got reassigned there for December 6th.

Works better for me bc I have family that live in Orlando 🙂

Hey guys. I'm sorry if this seems like a silly question.. how do you know what campus you're assigned to? This is part of the email for an interview invitation I received:

The Admissions Committee has assigned you to the Campus. Your Interview on November 29th is scheduled at the Gainesville Campus. If your interview is satisfactory and conditional admission is offered, you will complete the PharmD program at your assigned campus.

My understanding was that I'd be assigned a campus after the interview.. I'd appreciate your help. Thanks!

For mine it was right in the first sentence. It says " The Admissions Committee has assigned you to the St. Pete Campus". You should email Mary Beth back for clarification because it looks like they just forgot to include the campus in your email.

I agree. Mine stated it in the email as well.

Did your Interview invites include a time? I have a date, assigned campus, and interview location but no stated time of interview.

I think they send you another email with the time. I got mines yesterday. Maybe you can try emailing Mary Beth she's really good with replying back with emails. Hope this helped.

The orlando interview starts at 11:15 am but i think we have to be there by 10am.

That's correct. Mine is at 11:30am right after yours but it said to arrive at 10am. I'm so excited 😀 I also can't wait to tour the city and look at apartments.

arggg me too i'm soo looking forward to go appartment hunting!!! I just hope we kill our interviews and we get our acceptances ASAP!! :xf:

I wonder why they interview on Thursdays. My lab professor was not happy.

Congrats everyone on getting interview invites and best of luck!! Just wondering when did you all submit your supplemental app? how long did it take after the submission when you received the invite? I'm still working on my supplemental, but really hoping to finish it asap! UF is definitely one of my top choices.

I have mixed feelings about the day. I did not think the day was negative but there is always that uncertainty until you hear back. The staff, administration, and current students were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. Fingers cross for a quick and positive reply!
 
Anyone call to see if decisions have been made? I know Mary Beth said mid next week but I did over hear some others interviewees saying they heard she may know as soon as today.

I feel like it may be better to just be patient - we'll be notified soon enough!
 
I haven't heard anything yet...I have a feeling that they already know who they want to invite but because they need the conditional acceptance letters approved it will cause them to delay sending out the emails until later next week....all we can do is wait.
 
How was the interview? I ask because it is so short compared to others... 2 hours altogether with 15 min being the interview part. I feel like they can't cover everything? And I was under the impression that the interview portion really is just a formality since its so short and they accept most students they interview. Was it difficult? How many people interviewed one candidate? Thanks! 🙂

The interview is more or less a formality, however that doesn't mean you should take it lightly. It is fairly short, mostly they just want to see that you are not emotionally unstable and that you can speak english. Overall, it was a fairly painless experience. But again you should still do some form of preparation. To answer your question it was two people that interviewed me, a practitioner and a professor.

I am certain we all made it in. Everyone from the first interview were all great people!

Hey guys! So I am a Georgia resident but really want to apply to UF. I've heard they prefer Florida residents though. Do you guys think it's worth it to apply?
 
Is the interview really only 10-15 min? How many questions did they ask?
