Hi everyone! So happy that I got off the waitlist for Einstein COM this morning and I know it may seem obvious but I need help deciding on a school (very indecisive person).
Context: I'm not from Florida, I'm from the southeast and went to an instate school, so I've never lived in either place but especially never up north.
Both

Pros:
Context: I'm not from Florida, I'm from the southeast and went to an instate school, so I've never lived in either place but especially never up north.
Both
- they are both incredible schools, with many opportunities. I'm undecided on a specialty but don't think it would prevent me from any specialty.
- both are p/f preclinical I believe
Pros:
- i have family in Florida ( most are 4 hrs from Gainesville but i have a close family member at the school in a different program!)
- loved the second look vibes and met a lot of cool people i could see myself being friends with !
- Schools seem to want student success
- Very supportive and extensive network
- if i wanted to match back to my southeast home state UF seems advantageous
- seems similar to my undergrad (which I loved): big state school with sports culture, so outside of class that could be fun!
- more expensive. cost of attendance would be about 30-40k/ yr
- hate Florida's political climate. I hear Gainesville is chill, but UF is still subject to the whims of their state government. Never saw myself living in FL.
- mix of in house and nbme
- most matches are in florida
Pros:
- FREE TUITION! (this is obviously huge), maybe could get need based scholarship, but loans would probably 20-25k/yr if no need based aid.
- supportive staff/faculty it seems
- NMBE exams.
- not in florida
- the students at the pre-interview casual chat seemed nice and like they enjoyed it there! (but it's been so long I don't remember much.)
- I don't know a soul in NYC except a good friend from college. and it's 9 hrs from my family.
- do they have full accreditation again yet?
- so so cold
- Bronx: never visited. When i've visited NYC in the past, it's never made me desperate to live in the city.
- could want to match back to my home state
