Just wondering who else is excited to hear from UF this Friday? Interview invites are supposed to be sent then and I am getting excited since I have been waitlisted an another school (VMRCVM). I cannot wait to hear from them!!! 😀

How did you find out that they're being sent (or delivered?) on Friday? Ive been trying to stay super busy so I don't go crazy checking my mailbox

I heard from a vet student that they usually send the invitations before the 15th, so am predicting the end of this week, but thought they would send an e-mail.

I'm currently finishing my last year here also!


To answer another question, UF sends snail mail (always have), so unless they have changed their format we should be getting offers in the mail sometime soon (this week or next week).

Early in the application cycle, UF sent a piece of mail to my home address in Florida (I'm away at school in New England). Does anyone know if they like to send all of their mail to your home address as opposed to your current/school address or if this was just a fluke as it was related to residency stuff?
I just need to know if I should tell my mom to watch the mail more closely this week...

I have heard that yes, you can gain residency after 1 year at UF. I don't know specifics, though.

No, you can't. They stopped doing that this past year.

I want to let you know that interview invitation and denial letters went out today. Since Monday is a holiday you should be receiving them by Tuesday or Wednesday. For those living overseas it may take an extra week.

In addition to the applicants selected for interviews, approximately 25 candidates will receive a letter stating that they have been placed on an alternate list. I do not have information on how this list has been ranked. Alternate applicants will be called as soon as we get confirmation on applicants declining their interview offers.

For those residing in the US – contact my office at 352-294-4272 if you do not receive a letter by next Friday, February 19th.

Hm, I never got the email. Then again, I have a slight feeling that UF has simply forgotten about me over the course of the cycle. I've sent my transcrips TWICE, and it still said it was missing on the tracking page...unless they just don't update that anymore.

I don't think it has anything to do with is/oos. I got the email today and I'm oos.

Have you gotten emails from Lynette before dickvetplease? I remember some people last year said ufl had their wrong email address. I guess either way you should get a letter next week

No they aren't...at least they weren't last year when a friend of mine got her interview letter.

Well I did get the email a little while back that gave us the general timeline for UF's admissions process, so I know they have the correct email somewhere down there. Ah well, who knows..

I would call them asap. BTW, didn't you get accepted to UPenn, VMRCVM, and Missouri? ( I am not stalking you, just remembered since we were interviewing at VMRCVM on the same day). I know that you mentioned an interest in zoo medicine, so is that why you want to go to UF? I always wanted to be an equine vet, but am also interested in zoo medicine and UF has an exotics residency program which sounds interesting. Anyways, maybe we'll have interviews on the same day again. 😀

Actually, I finally got the email, just a bit later than all of you for whatever reason. Right now i'm keeping UF because of my interest in zoo medicine. However, I haven't decided how much of that interest is just because it sounds really cool 😳. In any case, I do have those acceptances, and for now i've been deciding between Mizzou and Edinburgh. I just can't decide whether its worth keeping UF in, now that I can't get in-state tuition after a year. If I decide that the whole zoo/exotics thing is just a dream, then i'll probably strike UF off the list whether or not I get an interview. I'm about a second away from officially deciding on Mizzou, so that letter needs to hurry up!

Hopefully we do get to interview together, since we didnt have the chance to meet @ VMRCVM!

I got an interview too! I just graduated UF in December with a BS in animal sciences

My mail goes to Gainesville

The letter has the interview date & time. I believe tours are given after the interview (or if you get there really early, I would imagine you can tour before). Good luck everyone!
