Veterinary School Application Advising Ad

I called my post office today and they said minimum 2 days from Gainesville to Tampa. Even for certified...that doesn't expedite the mail - it is still first class. Tomorrow is the day I am feelin it. :xf:

I'm in the same boat as you. I live like right next to the vet school and no letter today. This is why I don't like snail mail, I always feel like late news=bad news. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If certified mail doesn't expedite it in any way then I guess it's just USPS hates us. 🙁
 
certified mail is actually often slower for some reason. not sure why, but it is
 
Hopefully I get a birthday acceptance today too! Mine is on Sunday. Congrats to yesterday's acceptances and good luck/mailman hunting to those expecting letters today!

mine is on Tuesday! we seem to have a lot of April birthdays on here. 🙂 happy early birthday. i considered my acceptances as birthday presents!! good luck to everyone waiting to hear today!!
 
ugh is anyone else going crazy?! well i wont get mail til later today. my friend that lives in gainesville didn't get any letters today so other FL people don't freak out if you dont get a letter today, although I know Im gonna freak out esp since my roomie knows. im just frustrated. I mb heading to scotland so im hoping today I find out so i can start figuring out my plans.

I'm definitely going insane here. Doesn't help that my mail doesn't arrive till 5 in the afternoon. 😡

This is insane...my pet parrot is even losing feathers over this!!! AAAGGGGHHH!!

I see the mail lady....but she starts on the other side and goes through the entire subdivision, and then my house is the 2nd to last one she does!!!! ugh....its in her car right now.... i can't take it!!

katie i had the same thing happen when my auburn letter was being delivered. i had left the house to distract myself and when i got back the mail lady was on my street at the other end. i thought the same thing - the fate of my auburn destiny is in her truck at this very moment!! 😱😱

Were all letters sent certified, or only acceptances. Got the notification, but can't pick it up at the PO until tomorrow.

Same 🙁. I guess I'll have to wait till Monday to call. Do you think it would be completely out of line to call or go to the school since I'm in Gainesville?
 
my friend called and said lynette cant do anything til monday so i wouldnt call or go over. im waiting still too and this is annoying

Same here. I'm OOS though so I most certainly will have to wait until Monday, but I'm still holding out a small glimmer of hope for tomorrow. I just wanted to know before Easter so I could tell my family when I see them Sunday but I guess I will have to wait. 🙁

I'M IN!!! Score!!!! I need to hurry up and register for those summer courses, yikes just realized my final exam is on May 3, and summer classes start may 10...less than 7 days to move, wow...this is gonna be an exciting adventure!

No letter today. Booooo. 🙁

I know two people in the Tampa area that got their acceptances today. So not sure why the USPS delivers at different speeds within an area. I could have walked to Gainesville faster than they are delivering my letter!

Not to bring this up, but does anyone know someone who received rejections? I have only heard of acceptances, which is awesome, but I am getting a bad feeling about this.
 
Not to be the bearer of bad news... but I heard that they have only sent out acceptances so far and that the waitlists and rejections go out later in the week... like 2 days after acceptances. So hopefully you all get acceptances soon... and don't give up! Good luck!
 
i heard one person got a rejection thurs but thats it. i wish people would post on the rejection thread so we can have some hope even though I do feel bad for those who were rejected. and i hope people start posting on the waitlist thread also. I need some hope really bad

I don't think Lynnette would just straight up lie to us in the e-mail. Plus it would mean she would have to handle a whole volley of calls come Monday morning if the rejections letters were sent later which will just be a huge pain for her. Anyways you may be right, but regardless we won't know the result until we see the actual letter.

Second time uf interviewee/ first time interviewee at Ohio. no acceptances. This is what I want, so I'll take a deep breath, regroup, and be back better than ever. Birthday/Easter kind of ruined for the second year in a row, but my girlfriend is coming in town tomorrow and I'm still in good health, so life goes on. Thanks for the support sdners and have fun learning in the fall for those accepted.

Thanks everyone!! I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'm so thankful to even have a choice. Its hard b/c everyone tells me a DVM from one school is the same as a DVM from another and going to the more significantly more expensive school doesn't make sense. Still, my heart tells me to go to UF but my brain says to go to A&M. It has been my dream since the begining of undergrad to go to UF... why did they have to go and change the OOS tuition rule now!?? Its going to be a tough week figuring all this out. 🙁
