Ok, I have to register for summer class today. Should I take Stats or Chem I?s

My next two years is going to change depending on what I take this summer. I prefer to take Chem I so that I can take Org. Chem during the regular semester instead of having to do it over the summer. However, I don't feel good about taking Chem I at CC here, and Chem II at 4 yr State Univ in the fall. Which one matters more? taking Org Chem over the regular semester or taking both Chem I and II at a same school?

This is what my tentative schedule looks like...

Summer '09 ( at local CC )
1) Chem I instead

-----------------------------------------

FALL '09 (at 4 yr Univ.)
1) Bio I (2) Chem II (3) Cal I

SPRING '10
1) Bio II (2) Org. Chem I (3) Cal II

SUMMER '10
1) Phy I & II

FALL '10
1) Biology III (yep, my school, its divided into 3) (2) Org. Chem II (3) Statistics

SPRING '11
1) Mcat Preparation (2) Biochem (3) English Lit. (4) English Comp.

SUMMER '11, take MCAT

6/1/11 ish, apply to AMCAS

FALL '12
--MED SCHOOL-- (if everything goes right)

Let me know what you guys all think. I have to do 2 upper division English and Two math including Stats.

Thanks

Looks ok to me. However, be careful about splitting up the gen chem sequence. If gen chem II at your school is known for being a weed out class and you're not strong in the sciences you might want to think about that. If that's not the case you should be fine. Also, can you only take one class at the CC this summer?

Stats is a "dead end class" that will not usually be a pre-req for any other classes so it will be something that is unable to open up other classes you can take

Chemistry is a pre-req for most science classes.
You should take chemistry

What year are you now?

Your plan looks okay but I would be bit worried taking the first chem class at a different school. I used to tutor chemistry and the kids who didn't get the first semester often kept struggling because the pre-med advisors told them to forge ahead (instead of re-taking and really mastering the basics).

If you go ahead with this plan, I would get a syllabus from the CC ChemI, and take it to the ChemII prof at your university to ask if that class will adequately prepare you.

Well, I will be starting my post bacc in the fall at a 4yr Univ. so I wanted to finish the whole prerequisite in two years which means, its best that I take Chem I at local CC here in the summer.

I just can't decide whether its worth taking Org chem I & II in the summer so that I can take both Chem I & II at the same 4 yr Univ. I rather not have to take them in the summer which means I have to take Chem I this summer at a local CC.

Yes, CC lets me take one class this summer.

I am not sure if Chem II is a weed out course, I heard that Org Chem definitely is.

Any other opinion about this?

Due to my having to move in the summer, I can't finish both Chem I and Chem II.
