Thank you everybody, And I have no doubt in my mind that many of you will get yours very soon.

The e-mail was an ambiguous e-mail. So it must have been sent to multiple people. My name was nowhere on it. But it stated that the Letter with instructions will be arriving in the mail within the next week.

Thank you again and GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE:luck:, SOON YOU WILL BE AS HAPPY AS I.

Congratulations guys! Good job.

And for the rest of us, do you guys have any tips about the UH interview?

to those of you who were so fortunate to be accepted already, do you mind sharing your numbers and letting us know how you felt about your interview experience? just want to get an idea of how much the interview and numbers weigh in the decision for acceptance. thanks.

I felt good after the interview although, there were certainly some things I said which caused me to be concerned. Overall, the interview experience was very relaxed. I was fortunate that I had an interview first before the writing and group exercises. After my interview, I felt a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders...the writing and group exercise seemed easy after that.

I feel uncomfortable sharing my stats for all to see so I will just send you a pm...

Congratulations guys! Good job.

The usual, be yourself. Although, try to give a positive spin to everything. If they ask you about your weakness, failures and disappointments always end with how it taught you a valuable lesson.

Be sociable. There will be a lot of pharmacy students there. Ask them questions even though you think you might know the answer already. Safe questions to ask are how do you like the program so far? What is the most difficult class you've taken so far? Why? What made you choose UH over other schools you applied to?

Try to remember the names of the people who are members of the admissions committee (write them down if you want *when they are not looking*) so you have them if you want to write a thank you note later. You can look up their email addresses on the school's website. Don't forget your interviewer.

ASK QUESTIONS to the interviewer. If you have questions that are of particular interests to you, you can actually steer the conversation toward something that can highlight your passion and interests for pharmacy. Have follow up questions to show that you are listening. Then, conclude your main question with "the reason I asked that is..." That almost always leads your interviewer to ask you to expound more.

My stats are on here somewhere if you want to hunt around for them, probably on the TX applicants thread.

I felt really good about the Interview when I walked out. I know I did amazingly well on the group activity.

My essay might not have been so strong but I stated my point and gave reasons. and a conclusion.

I really had no Idea about the one-on-one because all the current students stated that my interviewer was going to just talk and talk but they either stopped that from last year or I just didn't notice it that much. Other than that it was fun.

HURRAY ETHYL METHYL WE ARE GOING TO UHCOP YEAH YEAH.

P.S. may this is a sign that we were the only ones that decided to meet up before and get to know each other.

Y'all might want to try that for the next round. Good luck:luck:

Hahaha, that's true. Knowing at least one person in the interview who was in the same shoes as me REALLY helped me in relaxing down a little bit.

That was a wise decision on our part, CPhTtoPharmD. I would strongly recommend it to other people who have upcoming interviews.

Hi, is anybody else going to the march 7th interview except FiteOffUrDemons? 🙂

and CONGRATS to CPhTtoPharmD and Ethyl Methyl for becoming FUTURE PHARMCISTS 😀

congrats to everyone getting in and i hope the best for everyone else! 🙂 i also have an interview on march 7

I'll be there on the 7th.

Anyone making plans?

And congrats, Ethy Methyl. Stalking the mailman must have helped. 👍

Is it said I still check this thread 7-10 times a day eventhough I received my acceptance letter?

Guess its just habit now.

any more letter of acceptance comes? i still don't receive anything either in my email or my mail box....😕

i got a letter in the mailbox on thursday saying that my application has been "tabled," whatever that means...did anyone else get the same letter?

UH apparently does not use a "waiting list". They use the term "tabled" to signify that they are still considering you for admission. You can browse some of the old threads for more info. But many applicants dealt with this in the past. It's definitely not a bad thing b/c if they wanted to reject you ...they would say that. They are going to continue comparing you to other applicants. Seeing as how yesterday at midnight was the deadline...I'm sure they will be able to better evaluate the pool of applicants. Congrats on making so much progress in the whole process. Some of us, myself included, are still waiting to be invited for an interview. Good luck and God bless 🙂

ok, so we have some winners, any many of you even have interview dates. what about the no so fortunate ones? did anyone already get rejected? I have no interview date yet, or any other good news yet. I guess not getting a rejection is good news, but Im hanging by a sting these days.. Good luck to all, I hope I get a chance to meet you too one day.

oh, and another thing. did anyone know that the deadline date for UH, was moved to Feb 1? I got an email in dec, so I did get mine in on time, but I see there are alot of people that sent it in after. were they still taking applications from the 1st to the 15th??

When did that happen? All the e-mails i recieved from them said Feb 15th.

For those of you who are fortunate on getting an interview for March 7th, would you guys like meet up and get to know a little about each other before the interview? 🙂 I just think Ethyl Methyl and CphTtoPharmD's idea is good and it may help if there's someone familiar during the interview

Just an idea :d

It really help to see familiar faces at the interview It lightens you up a little, which makes you seeem more confident in yourself if your are a little more jovial in the interview.

pharmdiva is right about the whole table thing, but UH will eventually have a waitlist.

For those who have an interview invite....How do the interview invites come mail, e-mail or both? Also, how long did you wait from the time they received your application to your interview invite?

They will email you. The email will include a supplemental questionnaire which you must turn in via email before your interview. I had approximately one month to work on it. And 2 weeks after the deadline for turning it in I had my interview. I was in the first group of interviewees. The timeline might be slightly different, idk.

I got my invite today through email. I think I had my application complete around the last week or two of January. I don't remember because I don't know when my professor sent in her rec. I was surprised when my friend told me she got an interview with UH for March 7, and her pharmacist hadn't even sent in the LOR yet.

They will just ask her to bring it with her to the interview or she can turn it in before then. I think they consider your application as long as they have at least one LOR (pure speculation here).
