do you think i would get a secondary with my application to USH-COM ??

It got sent by AACOMAS on 9-30-03,

I have a 3.25, 21, electrical engineering degree, 3.70 post bacc, 9PS-6VR-6BS. I have yet to take organic, in the process of doing it.

I have LOTS of extra curriculars..., and i have been working in the industry for 2 years...

Any ideas??

Yeah, you will get a secondary. Feel free to ask me about the school.

ok,

hey i sent you a PM.

thanks for the help!

You should get a secondary there.

I would get at least two D.O. LORs if you want to seal the deal.

Why two?? I thought it was one.....

It is true, only one is required, but in his situation, two would be a great benefit. Trust me.

Ahhh yes, it would help if I would read the OP. Two would do you good.

well i got an email for a secondary from DMU - IM EXCITED!!! but still no word from UHS, should i call them??

ha..congrats! 🙂

No, UHS will send you a secondary soon in few days. They send it via snail mail so you will have to wait a bit.

Good Luck!

still no word from uhs yet,... what was everyone else's stats who got a secondary... im pretty nervous now... they have had it for a whole week and no answer.

I think you need to calm down a little bit. I would start to worry if they've had it for a month and still haven't responded.

ok, thanks for the help guys.

I'm looking for opinions. When a school sends a paper secondary, should I type my responses or just hand write everything? Of course the electronic secondaries can be typed. Thanks.

I typed everything for the sole fact that my handwriting is atrocious and I didn't want to take time to make sure I wrote everything legibly. Typing was just the easier way to go.

usually, i hand write the fill-in-the-blanks and typed out the essay questions.

ok, got my second reply today, this time from KCOM! whoooot!

seriously, do i have a shot there??? that would be so awesome!

oh well...

anyone else gotten in there?? what did they like to see???

any more ideas here guys??

i just got my secondary from OSU... and i shadowed a really cool d.o. a few days ago who is also on the staff at uhs... the doctor was like "hope to see you on rotations in a few years" and i was like whoo hoo!! hehe... that would be cool to hear at an interview... and man... i might as well have been since the doc does do interviews there....

man... hope my uhs-com secondary comes soon!

yay! FINALLY got my UHS-COM secondary!!!!!! whoooot!

is it tooooo late into the game to get in?? i mean i guess my chances are significantly stunted, but do you think i still have a chance???? sorry... just have to ask........

I knew individuals last year who interviewed after december and still got in.

Any time of year that you get an interview at UHS you have a good chance of being accepted because they screen the applicants very well. I interviewed at UHS in late March 2002, and along with the approximate 20 folks who interviewed that day, at least half of us ended up together in the class of 2006.

Of course, the secondary doesn't guarantee an interview but you are still in the running. Best of luck!

do you think i will get an interview at uhs??? going to uhs is my ultimate goal... that would be really cool. i will be trying year after year until i get in... but i dunno.......... 😱

well i have now deliever the 2 required LORs to my 2 science teachers, and had one doctor earlier this week say the LOR will be in the mail by this weekend, and i just got in touch with another doctor yesterday who will also get one in by this weekend. its like really cool because both docs have close ties to UHSCOM so those should make me look pretty good. so all in all, my LORs should probablly come soon if they all keep their word on it... and i just hand delievered my secondary today... i had EVERYTHING in it... and made it look as good as i could think to do, with a cover letter and everything.

i guess ill find out soon enough if im doctor material... any moral support out there????????? ahhhhhhhh

😱

KUMC MD,

Hang in there. From the looks of your username, it sounds like you perhaps are from the KC area which is probably a plus. I am not sure at this time of the application year what kind of time-table you are on as far as hearing about an interview, but if you get one, just be yourself.....everything is nice and laid back on interview day. You have a great shot of being accepted if you get an interview.

Best Wishes.

Carpe

don't sound so bitter......there are plenty of us (me included) that got rejected and came back for another year. Don't let a speedbump stop you from your goals. You think it gets easier after applying?????
