Hey, I was wondering if there's a point in appealing to UIC's decision to reject me w/o an interview. My credentials are 3.81 GPA, 32Q, 3.76 Science, and a lot of extracurric. including exec. board positions, leadership @ church, clinical experience, shadowing. I also go to uic, so i thought that would only help my case, but yea...i'm really disappointed cuz i thought uic was my best chance. WORRIED!! So what do you think, will reappealing do anything?

I'm doubtful it can hurt you if its heartfelt and really honest...but I'm also doubtful that they will even read it let alone consider it. I would probably do it if it were my number one choice, and I had strong ties to the school, the city was my permanent home, etc...

i dont think its possible to appeal for a reconsideration after the admissions committee has made a decision already. you have good stats for uic, perhaps it was something in your application that the adcom didnt like. also, did you have all the pre-req's completed?

If you call on Thursdays from 8:30-5:00 and ask to speak to a counselor, you can learn of the reasons why the Admissions Committee denied you an interview. Perhaps it will help.

I'm sorry about what happened.
