This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hi naz,
the 4 year marksheet is the transcript/s, so if you have them translated as well, then it should be ok🙂 i sent them the Romanian certification of the documents and these days the English certified translation should reach them...but Jill didn't say anything yet, so i guess they are not there yet
take care,

Thank you starry🙂

Congrats cementum79👍 party time for you:hardy::hardy::hardy:

would you mind sharing your stats with us,cementum and hansie?

gpa >3 6 people

Hey guys, congratulation for all people that get admitted this year in UIC.🙂

I have question for you guys, what study material did you use for NBDE part one.I am willing to apply next year for UIC its seems to me that I have to score over 87 with passing score for Part 2.

I really appreciate your help guys👍

You can start with dental decks 07, then use kaplan review books/lectures, then go to exam papers (released and unreleased) - finally look up topics that you dont understan in decks in books/lecture notes. Try to aim for a score of 90+, for all applications. If anyone else has to add something please feel free to let tom know.

good luck

Hello fellow classmates

I visited the dental school yesterday (during the interview i did not get a too close of a look), pretty nice facility, I saw the pre-clinic area for us IDDP studets and that was nice. Met with some students and they said it is a good learning environment. Also they told me we do most course work from D2, D3 and D4 year in IDDP - 1 and then do IDDP-2 entire year as clinics. Excellent oppourtunity to work on patients. Jill said she would be sending out more info on our whole class as it becomes available. Cant wait to see you all in May.

Good Luck

dentalbug

hi every 1
congrats for all the new lucky one👍s
does anyone have any idea about the educational system for our program..
I mean what about those who already passed the NBD 2? would they be required to attend the same lectures as those who passed NBD 1 only?
as I know about some other dental schools...if u already passed part 2,u r not required to attend any related lecturs. is it the same in UIC?
thanks in advance for any help, and congrates again for u all🙂

We have to take the same classes i believe, 3rd year is mostly courses from D2, D3 and D4 and 4th is clinicals - IF i am not mistaken. I don't think it matters if you have part I or II.

Good luck

Dentalbug

syriana,
as dentalbug said, i don't think that having taken the nbde2 makes a difference in your curriculum;

It looks like if we answer to Q23 and Q24 as suggested above, we will be forced to answer "Yes" to Q49

49. Working on Master's or Doctorate in 2007-2008?

Is this correct? Is DDS considered a doctorate degree, examples given were "Phd, MD, ..etc"

I appreciate your responses.

Priya
Yes

DDS is a master/docetrate degree

good luck

dentalbug

i doubt it... bcos doctorate means phd/ masters and such...
now i m confused....whom should we ask to make sure...any suggestions??

i doubt it... bcos doctorate means phd/ masters and such...

DDS stands for Doctorate of Dental Surgery
DMD stands for Dentariae Medicinae Doctorae (Latin for Dental Medicine Doctorate)
MD stands for Medical Doctorate

These are all examples of professional doctorates. A PhD stands for Philosophy Doctorate, which is an academic doctorate. Furthermore, Doctorates, Masters and certain other degrees are all examples of graduate degrees.

Hope this clears up some of the confusion.
