If you want a well thought out answer, you should include your statistics + everything of relevance currently in your application. Probably better to follow the "WAMC" outline and post there
 
I would say sticking with the BS/MD program would be worth it unless you've managed to achieve stellar stats (GPA and MCAT wise) and have really strong extracurriculars. I'm not sure it's worth it to leave behind guaranteed matriculation to med school.

Also, if you really want to end up at a more prestigious school later on (for residency?), maybe you could take a research year before/after med school?
