yes to epi. my application was submitted in december and acknowledged in early january.

Do you guys know the stats on past UIC MPH classes...how big they are, percent accepted from those applied, average gpa/gre, etc.?

Congrats! I'm still waiting. Do you mind if I ask your stats, gpa, gre, experiences, etc?

Major: Bio/Psych Dual Degree
GPA: 4.0
MCAT: 35 (I didn't take the GRE, but they told me they would take my MCAT instead)
Experiences: Research in psychiatry, research assistant on a health insurance related project, community organizing; I had a couple recs from faculty at UIC SPH as well.

I'm an undergrad here as well, so that probably helped a little bit.

I have not heard anything yet. When I sent an e-mail to the EPI department, they said that we should hear no later than the end of March or first week of April.

Can time move any slower?

If any of you still havent heard back yet, I would call UIC. I called today, and they told me that the decision had been made for a while, but they havent been able to notify people yet. I also applied to mph epi, so i spoke to someone at that department directly.

It kinda sucks though - I was ready to send my confirmation to GW before I found out, and was happy with my decision. But now Im rethinking things (I had assumed I would be rejected from UIC since it was taking so long). If anyone has any advice/thoughts about these two schools, I'd really appreciate it! (sorry, I know this isnt the point of this thread)

Is anyone planning on attending UIC for sure? I just got my acceptance for the Environmental and Occupational Health MPH program last week 🙂. I'm starting to think of the moving process (since I'm from California), and I'm already stressed out! If anyone has any pointers for ideal places to live by the school, or knows of any openings for apartments, that would be much appreciated! (Feel free to PM me)

I live in Chicago and can tell you that Craigslist is the way to go. I don't attend UIC so I have no idea if they have an off-campus housing registry.
Chicago is super diverse and has different neighborhoods. You mentioned that you want to live by the school...UIC is near Little Italy, University Village and United Center (where the Bulls ad Blackhawks play). A little further out is the West Loop where there are cute lofts. There are really so many choices as to where to live in Chicago and UIC is easily accessible via the Blue Line (EL train).
Although Chicago gets pretty cold, it really is a wonderful city! I'm sad that I will be leaving it for school :/
Good luck and feel free to PM me or reply on here if you have any questions.
