I noticed that U-Illinois/Chicago doesn't publish its data for USNews rankings. Does anyone know what other medical schools are "equivalent" to UIC in terms of reputation and residency placement?
UIC is fine, it's a standard state school and you obtain a very solid education. If you check their matchlists, about half their students enter primary care fields, and the other half specialties. In addition, the students match to a wide variety of programs across the nation, including a sizeable number that match at Mass General, JHU, Yale, etc. Being the largest school in the nation, it is widely recognized by all residency programs, much more recognized than Rush or Loyola.
