Hi there!

I was wondering if anyone applied to UK for early admission?

I did not apply early to UK but I called Pharmcas about their system being down over labor day weekend she told me that UK wanted to extend the Early deadline but she isn't sure about what the other schools are going to do. Eventually all of the schools with pharmcas extended their deadlines but I believe it was UK first who started it. I can respect them for that, they are also a very good school.

I work with a pharmacist who was a professor at UK and he told me that the interview counts for more than what most students think. The interview determines about 40% of your admissions. Also avoid talking about how excited you are to be making lots of money as he said that would end up putting people on the waitlist. He is also a big fan of UK's sports as I assume most people are because of how successful their football program was last year and their historical basketball records. They are also big rivals to Louisville in sports that they even went as far as to propose a law that mandates UK/Louisville rivalry must play each other in football and basketball at least once a year. The law never passed but it just goes to show how big of a deal sports are in the bluegrass state.

Good luck!

I was thinking about UK but there is a pharmacy school in my state just as highly ranked and it's in-state tution.

I didn't apply early admission either but know of someone who was accepted last year. Interview counts for ALOT. They like service and will recognize how driven you are. My friend has very low stats compared to their averages, has taken several classes over (I don't know if they have academic forgiveness?), and pretty much sold them in the interview on his absolute desire to be a pharmacist and how he had changed from the person who wasn't doing so well in classes.

I applied early acceptance, I thought the interview was counted as 1/3, PCAT 1/3, and GPA 1/3.

So apparently the interview is crucial for admission! that really stresses me out because I get extremely nervous when I talk to people for the first time.
So do they interview 2 students at a time?
Do you guys have any tips on how to prepare for the interview?( I really need a lot of practice as this would be my first interview ever! if at all I get one, hopefully I will! )
What type of questions do they usually ask?

Thank you guys so much for the input 👍
