Did any one hear from umdnj yet ?
 
Not yet....i applied there also, the head of the pt department pam boyle sent an email saying we would be notified in december if they granted us a interview

Hi, I applied to UMDNJ also, but I did not receive an email.. Does anyone remember the date or even the subject? Maybe it went into my spam or I deleted it accidentally.
 
It was from Pamela Boyle dated 11/2. The subject was "Receipt of Application." They said the interview dates were January 3rd and 4th, and they would notify people in December.
 
Whats everybody stats ? i'm just curious !!! If u dont mind tellling

Hey! I just got an email from Pam Boyle inviting me for an interview too! I'm kind of confused because my latest GRE score is only around 810 total with a 4 on the analytical. But I do have 5 - 6 years experience working as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant and I think my PTCAS essay was great. This is the first school that has responded to me for an interview. If anyone has any tips for the interview please let me know.
 
I got an interview as well !!! I have 3.47 overall and 3.2 science i didn't take the gre yet. I'm taking it this month.
 
Just got the interview invite yesterday.
My overall is 3.58
Prerequisite GPA is 3.49
 
Hey guys.
I was offered an interview to umdnj as well. I live in california but I have a lot of family in the newark area. Do most of you live in jersey? I am wondering if the school gives preference to applicants living in-state.
 
Has everyone replied back to Pamela Boyle with their preferences for interview dates? If so, has anyone heard back from them on confirmation of a date? I'm starting to get a little nervous...
 
I was just about to ask the same thing mizderi but I thought I'd wait until the end of this week to ask. I expect people to start hearing back this week, assuming no one has heard back yet. I'm waiting to hear back but something happened today in my undergraduate life that may affect me even being able to be ready for DPT school in the fall 2012. I'm not going to get in to it with you guys though.
 
I was about to post the same exact thing....I replied to her with an email on Dec 7th with my preference so i dont know why I havent heard back yet...it is a little weird since the interview is right around the corner and I need to know for sure so I can take off of work
 
So i just spoke with Pam Boyle to ask her about the confirmation of Interview dates and she said that it was listed in the intial email that she would get back to everyone by Dec 22nd. So you should be hearing in the next few days
 
Does anyone know if there is a deadline for how late you can still be taking undergraduate classes before the Fall 2012 DPT semester starts (which is on July 31st 2012)?

I'm trying to see what my chances are of being accepted in to UMDNJ for Fall 2012 semester. I have two things against me right now: 1. My GRE scores are low: 144 for verbal reasoning, 143 for Quantitative Reasoning and 4.0 for Analytical Writing. These grades I believe are the equivalent on the old scale of about 360 in Verbal Reasoning and about 450 in Quantitative.

and 2. Even though I have finished all of my prerequisites that UMDNJ requires, I'd still have 1 semester to take in the summer one session (which starts at the end of May and goes in to end of June) in my school to complete all the classes I need for my bachelors.

I've spoken to Pam Boyle before about the GRE scores that I've received and I think she said that there is a minimum requirement of a 400 on Verbal and 500 on quantitative. The PTCAS UMDNJ page says: "To be competitive with the applicant pool, the admissions committee recommends scoring at least 400 Verbal, 500 Quantitative and 3.5 Analytical." So I'm just wondering what my chances are with such a low GRE score and the fact that I will still be finishing up my bachelors a month before the Fall 2012 semester starts. I was planning to retake the GRE Test but not until I was ready which doesn't look like it will be soon, probably not until February or March.

On PTCAS my GPA under "total" for the sections of freshmen, sophomore, junior and upper division course etc. is 3.18.

My Self Reported PT Prerequisite GPA is 3.53

Also I have been working as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant since the beginning of 2007.

In my undergraduate classes this fall semester I'm doing really well. I was taking 6 classes in total. The semester ended for me a couple days ago Dec. 19. I expect an A in 5 of those 6 classes but an F in one of those classes. I don't want to get in to why I'm getting the F grade though.

But those 5 As will push my 3.18 GPA up after I update PTCAS with my Fall 2011 transcript, despite the F.

So given all of this what are my chances of getting in to UMDNJ for the Fall 2012 semester?

So has no one received a confirmation on the interview date or is it just I who hasn't?
 
I got an interview confirmation about 3 days ago for January 3rd.

Sorry Ngozi to hear about the F and your difficulties I would think if you got all A's and one F there is most likely a logical conclusion as to what happened and most schools may easily figure it out . So I guess it really depends on why the F...........We all make mistakes .....but schools may look at all of these as predictors of future success in grad school so I guess you would have to be prepared to explain .........I wish you only the best

So confirmations did go out, I didn't get one. So I guess UMDNJ has a problem with my low GRE score, I suspected they would. I'm still hoping for Mercy College and Richard Stockton but I think they'd have problem with my low GRE score too. I probably won't get in to any schools for PT in 2012. I'll use the time to work and improve my GRE score. And I know I'll be ready for any school in 2013.

Try not to let it ruin your holiday...Consider investing in a GRE class Kaplan raised my score quite a bit ..........Anyway I am glad that you will not give up on this

I have an interview Jan 3rd 1-4pm. My GRE scores are 450 verbal, 650 quantitative, 4.0 AW. I am trying to start preparing for the interview now. Does anyone know if there will be an essay portion?
 
last year my friend told me that their was an essay portion.

I attended the interview on Jan 3rd from 9-12. Everyone on the faculty seemed really nice and my interview was with the program director and she was awesome so I think it went pretty well. Im hoping for the best as we will be hearing at the end of january. Best of luck to everyone!
 
Its crazy how they interviewed 200 plus people and there only accepting 50.
 
Ya i know its really crazy so im just crossing my fingers, the waiting game is torture. How did you like the school and how was your interview?
 
My interview went good. it was shorter than i thought. she asked me some question about my application and then asked me 3 questions, and asked if i had ant questions. i like the school. its 5 minutes away from my house which is very good me.
 
Hey all! Which UMDNJ are you applying to?? I had an interview back in october at stratford and still have'nt heard anything...i had other interviews in november and found out in December that i got in to those schools. Does anyone know if there is a certain date that UMDNJ lets us know of our acceptance/rejection?? Thanks!
 
I know that UMDNJ in newark send acceptance letters at the end of January. idk about straford maybe u can call or email the school to find out.
 
Im suprised your interview was so short...mine was quite longer about 15 questions or so. I guess what type of questions were asked depends on what faculty member interviewed you
 
My interviewer didn't read my file which I thought was strange.

We might have had the same person. Mine also didn't ask a lot of questions. I got the feeling that they were primarily interested in showing the school and getting sign offs on prerequisites during interviews. Now, all I can do is hope for the best. Good luck to everyone!
 
My interview went very well. But I am honestly only saying that because the one who interviewed was very nice. I actually had to talk to Pam Boyle because I already got accepted into another school and their response deadline is on Jan. 20. Best wishes to everyone!

I don't know yet lol. I'm going to call them in a couple days (or maybe i might just call them today ) just to possibly see what my status is so that I can try as best as I can to figure out what I want to do.

I had my interview on Jan 3rd and just received an unofficial email acceptance into the Newark Program!
I need to decide between going to Temple or UMDNJ now....

(I'm a Jersey resident).

Anyone else hear back?
 
What do you mean an unofficial email? Did it say an official letter will be coming in the mail. I know that's how they said they were going to notify us. I also interviewed on the 3rd but haven't heard anything. Congrats though!
 
I also got my unofficial acceptance today to UMDNJ - Newark!! I interviewed on Jan. 3rd

Thank you. Pam Boyle sent an email (about 2 hours ago) saying that it was an informal notice of my acceptance and that the official mailed acceptance would reach me soon. It was basically just a heads up.

Congratulations everyone that was accepted. Hey mirifical what was your GRE scores? Also the rest of you who got accepted what was your GRE scores? I will be looking to go to this school the most in 2013 and I just want to know what GRE scores are for this year.
 
Received my acceptance email tonight as well! Congrats to everyone who received the same. Will most likely be attending, see you all in July!

I took the GREs twice and my highest scores came out to 1280 with 4.5 in Analytical.
