School 1: University of Michigan (OOS)

Pros:
  • Reputation
  • Possibility of specializing (I am not sure if I want to yet)
  • Ann Arbor great location
  • Relatively cheap for OOS public school
Cons:
  • Far away from home
  • Extremely long school year, 3 semesters with minimal breaks
  • Extremely rigorous compared to other schools?
School 2: University of Maryland (OOS)

Pros:
  • Can get in-state tuition at some point (Less expensive than BU, a little bit more compared to Michigan)
  • Great focus on clinical experience
  • Diversity and history of the school
Cons:
  • Far from home
  • Baltimore not the safest location
  • Seen posts about extreme work load compared to other schools

School 3: Boston University

Pros:
  • Fairly close to home
  • Focus on technology
  • Great student atmosphere
  • Boston great location

  • Cons:
    • Extremely expensive
    • Heard a lot of gunners
Summary: Not sure where I am leaning towards, I know everyone says cost, so in order from most expensive to least expensive it will probably be BU, Maryland, Michigan. Is this an easy decision? Any advice?

I am also deciding between UMich and UMD. Assuming in state tuition is easily attainable by out of state students I would attend UMD no question. But I think it is trickier than it seems.

Isn't Michigan OOS tuition cheaper than IS Maryland tuition?

I have heard it is becoming more difficult to get in-state tuition after first year at UMD. I think it is more likely to get it 3rd or 4th year, and in this case Michigan OOS tuition is I believe less that UMD would be.

I'm a D4 at UMich and I'm from the east coast who went through the same process a few years ago debating between multiple schools! I totally feel that being far away is kind of scary, as I was also super close to the BU campus. Feel free to ask me any questions about it!
