Bill,

I usually enjoy reading your posts until you start attacking my common sense.

If you actually read my short post you will notice that I specifically said "sample of SDN users" NOT a sample of national DAT test takers (or even the average of people accepted to dental school).

It has been said time and time again that SDN users have much higher scores on average than the national DAT test taking public. The whole point for my post was to imply that the bell-curve (with the top being a 21AA) means that this poll most likely not fabricated like others have suggested.

I'm no statistician or actuariest (like Bill's fiancee 😉 ) But I'm gonna venture to guess that this bell curve will be pretty close in representing the matriculating students this year.

I feel that SDN does not represent the applicant pool as a whole, but it does represent the students who matriculate into dental school.

Everyone, keep posting your score. This is fun!!

I also think that if this poll was taken 5 years ago, the mean would ahve shifted from 20 to 18-19.

On a national average, this year I predict that the matriculating DAT score for 2004 will be approximately 19.5 🙂

My mistake. Sorry!

Very true, Broc. In general, it is also safe to assume that any post of mine is total and complete fabrication. I present entirely unfounded statements as fact and defend such with baseless, irrational arguments and circular reasoning. Feel free to demean me in any way that satisfies you.

BTW I think some people here are just a little uptight right now. It's O.K. I've been there too. 🙂

In fact, I think I will make this disclaimer my new signature.

I'm always wrong. critterbug doesn't know sh$t.

Whew. I'm so glad to have gotten that off my chest.

I think the Cowboys are gonna win the superbowl.

It looks like this years average (based on SDN's poll), is 18/19.

I wonder if those who scored 15's were their 1st attempt on the DAT, and if they appllied to schools with those scores. I know schools who accept as low as 14's, IUSD and UofL to name a few.

Now, to all the high fliers (AA=20+) - many of you took the DAT more than once - , you have certainly scared the hell out of those teens - who probably took the DAT once. We all know we have a lot of promising students on SDN 😀 , could be the top 20% of the application pool.

Every score is a good score, some scores are better, and lets all remember the DAT is just one factor out of many to be admitted to a Dental School.

I will start a poll on how many times a candidate took the DAT... 😀
