LOL....totally didn't put those pieces together. but i'll be back in november in durham for some an Alpha Convention.....i'll definitely come stop thru, especially if its during the November interview weekend.

Since I check this thread every hour of every day, I figured there was someone else out there that does the same thing. This is for you, whoever that is... I was tired of not seeing any new comments! I'm ready to see some more interview invites, and hopefully post that I received mine!

I was curious to see when other ppl did, I submitted a little later than I wanted (end of August)...good luck everyone👍

UNC has not even cashed my check yet for secondary application. Is that normal?
 
Based on this thread, people first started hearing that they had September 19 interviews on August 26. That is 24 days prior to the interview date. The next interview date is October 24; if they stay consistent, that would imply that the next round of interviewees should start hearing from the school approximately September 30, which would be Wednesday. Here's hoping...
 
What about the deposits clearing out?
If your check has not cleared out, that means your application should be on the bottom of the stack? And if it had not cleared shortly before Sep 30, say, then there is little hope for Oct interviews... :?
That aadsas is killing me, it was much better the old way imho...

ya thats usually how they have done it in the past but I guess not this year.
 
No, I know for a fact there is another interview date sometime in January. They should notify people for that date I think sometime in December. sarah bellum may know. If I'm not mistaken I believe there may be an interview date in November too.
 
yeah I had heard there was one in November, but I just wasn't sure about how they decided who got what interview date. My gpa is 3.6, I go to NC state, and my DAT scores are : QR: 15, Bio: 16, OGChem: 18, Chem: 19, PAT: 18, RC: 21, so not that great, but I am taking it again. How good/bad are my chances?
 
Hey guys, is it just me, or did UNC take a really long time to cash your checks? I mailed the check (and my secondary) on Aug 8, but they still haven't cashed it yet. When I called on Sept 16, they said my app was complete. I'm really interested in UNC, but it just seems kind of weird that they're taking so long with my check. Did this happen to any of you? Thanks
 
I have seen the same thing...they just now cashed my check the other day...around the same time they offerred me an interview. So it may be they dont cash it until you get and interview invite or until they look at your application. It is weird though, it hasnt been like that in the previous years.

OMG!!! I check this thread like a mad man, every day I am like a machine: sd.net - check, aadsas - check, bank acc - check...
So when I saw your message, I was very upset - cuz my check didn't get cashed yet... so I went to my bank acc after reading it and BANG - it's cashed! Finally 😀 I even got butterflies in my stomach, cuz now I really feel like im so much closer to getting in 😉
I hope to hear about interview by end of week.
Any one else got good news?
 
They cashed my check yesterday! I like to think that my post on SDN helped speed up the process... so now if I ask about interviews, will I get an interview invite tomorrow? :laugh:

Called UNC this morning and they said if you are selected for an interview they will notify you 3 weeks prior to the interview date. Just letting people know...
 
This is rediculous.... This AGONY of waiting for an interview is getting to me...

So if you have not heard about interviews by now (and now we are 16 days away from next interview), then good luck...
 
I'm pretty sure they send out the emails for the interview date at the same time, so if we didn't get one when others say they have, I don't think we were selected this round. We still have November and January Interview dates though guys!

From what I recall... and i may be wrong... they said the the september interviews were lucky b/c they get reviewed more than once. after dec 1, they get reviewed again, whereas the other groups get reviewed just once. He MAY have meant, the pre dec 1 interviews, which seems to make more sense, but i remember something to that affect...
 
I imagine the people who get earlier interviews either applied earler, have better numbers, or a combination of the two. Hearing that those with earlier interviews have a better chance of getting in should not be surprising nor upsetting. If you're from NC and have above average numbers chances that you at least get an interview are decently good. Whether its in November or December its an interview and you will be considered. Don't let the time of your interview discourage you. Its an interview and means they are strongly considering you. Now I haven't gotten an interview from UNC yet either and am nervous, but there's nothing you can do about it. If you have other interviews just try and do extremely well in those.

This is how it works:
There are three interview dates before Dec 1. All are equally weighted. The committee meets and selects half of the class from this three-part pool.
There's another interview date in January. The committee then meets again, now selecting from the remainders of the first three dates AND the fourth date.
The rest of the class is selected here.
