Unc

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
got acceptance call from my interviewer last week.

from what i've heard they aren't always consistent. some people interviewed earlier than me haven't heard yet; others interviewed later and heard before I did.

good luck!

accepted last week too. . .
day after coming home from interview @ jefferson ( i *loved* jefferson, btw)!
this may be insanity, but if i got into jeff, and got a NHSC thingie, my unc space might well open up. . .

Does anybody have a clue of what you have to have for stats to get into UNC from out of state???

Peace,
BDF

Okay, maybe other people might know, in general when trying to get into a school that accepts about 80% state students, are high stats, MCAT > 34, GPA >3.8 a must?

I heard around 35, 3.8ish for out-of-staters. People tell me that letting UNC know you're interested really counts. Call and write to tell them you are still really interested. Call your interviewers, etc. BTW, I was accepted in November (in-state).

i got invited to interview at UNC, out of state, with a 3.3 GPA (3.2 science)
i've been rejected by a lot of other schools that I thought I had a better shot at. And UNC seems to be ignoring a lot of people with extraordinary stats, both in and out of state.

so who the heck knows what they're looking for? whatever it is i hope I got it!

anyway, it seems like a great school for me: strong in primary care and public health . . . and high of 68 degrees today! 😎

Hey guys,

For those of you who heard last week, just wanted to know when you interviewed? I was interviewed sometime during the end of December and haven't heard anythin yet? ;(

They told me at my interview (mid-October) that by far, most people would get in during February and March. I know someone who is a first-year now, and she said they took forever to admit her. She's the one who said you just have to keep letting them know you're interested. Good luck.

I called today and found out they haven't made a final decision yet, and that there was a mailing going out telling me that. Does anyone know what that means? I interviewed 8 weeks ago, so do they send a letter to all folks who they don't decide on when 8 weeks is up telling them this, and that my chances are neither better nor worse than before this, or does it mean it's time for me to start finalizing back-up plans? Any advice would be much appreciated.

I thought I was being rejected, but I got an interview invite for UNC this weekend!! I'm so deliriously happy.

GOOOOO HEELS!! 😀 😀

Chemguync--

I think it means that if you really want to go to UNC, you should tell them that. Also, if you've done anything impressive since your interview, let them know that, too. Good luck--maybe I'll see you next year.
