Hi all!

So, the interviews for UND and IIT clinical psychology programs are both on the same day, with no alternate day available. There is a strong likelihood of being able to do a skype/phone interview at either if you can not make it in person. For those who have experience with either or know of the programs, any opinions if both are pretty strong fits in terms of POI's research interests? Curious about thoughts on the program, funding, location, etc. greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

All I can offer is to relate the experience of a friend of mine who interviewed at IIT a couple of years ago.

-When asked about the funding situation during a group presentation to all applicants, the DCT hemmed and hawed about it and ended the topic by saying, "Well, no one has ever had to drop out because they couldn't pay."
-They didn't have individual interviews. Every interview with faculty members had multiple applicants with a single faculty member, which ended up encouraging weird competition between applicants to "one-up" each other.

She was glad she received other offers.....

UND admits students regardless of who you want to work with for research. Though each professor has a certain number of points to award to applications that can change their ranking. Professors can give all of their points to one or split them with several students. Also, ALL professors get points regardless of whether they plan to take new students or not. UND has given students the chance to visit and/or interview on alternative dates. The downside is that you would be doing so alone and not be able to partake in the open house. Plus side could be considered that you would be doing so alone and not competing with students or professors for their attention in the moment. PM me with the professor(s) you are considering, and I will provide more details privately.

It's been three years since I interviewed with IIT but at the time their funding wasn't great. 12 credits of tuition remission during the first year (six in the fall, six in the spring), no stipend or health insurance. No tuition remission after first year.

Wow. I didn't know it was that bad. And being in Chicago, it would likely be very expensive to live there and you'll likely be accruing debt from the tuition.

OP, maybe you should shy away from IIT.

ITT is expensive and Chicago is an oversaturated market. ITT has some well regarded researchers.

UND is not the most cosmopolitan place and its cold. But it its accredited and doesn't get you into debt, go for it.
