If under armour made something like HospitalGear, would you buy it? And I'm talking about UnderArmour scrubs that have all the underarmour technologies in it, like sweat wisking, body temperature control, etc. etc.
And lets say that the price tag on this was $50-$75 for the full set. And one pair would last you a good 6 months of constant use.

Just curious to see if people would buy this stuff, vs an old fashion scrub made out of cotton or whatever material they make it out of.

Edit:
I forgot to add:
These scrubs are gonna be water/blood repellent. If you get into an unfortunate accident and get blood or urine on yourself, it will not soak pass through and get on to you.

Only if it comes with a free pair of UnderArmour Assless Chaps

I would wear them, bro.

My friend that competes in horse competitions informed me, all chaps are assless and therefore you're stuttering when you say this. I've stopped myself from saying it. 😀

To answer the OP, no I wouldn't wear them unless they whisk away pathogens, too.

Wait, I forgot to add:

So it'll just pool and drip down onto your shoes.

Why are we even having this discussion? Are we going to have a super high-tech, special SDN edition scrub?

Talk is that Lee is going to come out with his own line of SDN drysuits. SDN logo on the breast, URL at the nape of the neck. The zipper cable will repeat SDNSDNSDN.

Can they be customized? So like mine will have a little place for a dry erase marker under "koko_eats" so I can let everyone know how my day is going without twittering?

And also I'd like a super secret pen pocket so all my favorite pens can be hidden from the prying hands of others.

LOL, they would have a hell of a promotional campaign for that.

I prefer not to buy any scrubs, much easier to just use the hospital ones so they can deal with washing them. There is something to be said for swiping a badge and getting a fresh pair of scrubs.

most hospitals require you to wear their scrubs which they specially wash and restock and that provides a specific color based on specialty. So if you are thinking about making new and improved scrubs first off (sadly) its already be done and second, you will have a really hard time getting hospitals for example to buy them. If you think about it the hospital orders a couple of houndred/ a thousand pairs or so of scrubs, all one color, cotton paying about 5 buck a pair from the manufacturer. Now you would want them to pay 50-70$ to replace these scrubs for their staff... couple of thousand pairs... i dont know how well it will fly. but hey, if you think its doable by all means give it a try... cant hurt right?

Forgot to add that in a lot of ORs the hospital policy is you have to wear their scrubs. Sometimes you can get away with another hospitals scrubs that are similar colors but some scrub nurses are nazis and will tell you to leave and change into the official hospital ones before you can come back inside.

I'm sure they'd last longer than 6 months. My football underarmour stuff lasted way longer...and I was playing football.

I'm actually surprised they haven't capitalized on this already. There's a large demographic of surgeons who would totally eat that up.

I was thinking more in the private practice venue....also known as the sleeveless scrubs venue 😛

I really don't see the point in wearing scrubs. They're really no different from wearing a prison jumpsuit.

Well they should at least be water resistant, right?

lol, I thought you were being all 'symbolical n stuff

More seriously...our skin is pretty waterproof as it is. The downside with waterproof garb is that it doesn't breathe well and becomes really uncomfortable after a couple hours. Gor-Tex would be the exception but breathable, waterproof fabric is outrageously expensive..much more so than underarmour 😛 The major use of scrubs is sterility...but it's more about protecting the pt's, not the wearers.
