how many of you guys double majored with psychology? i'm thinking of getting a B.A. alongside with my psych major because i find the two sciences both interesting and complementary. do grad schools look well upon this type of thing? because if i do go into the higher level bio classes i'm sure my GPA will not be as high as the typical psych student's. ehhh but i like bio as well. tough call for me

I double majored in English and psychology. I don't think double majoring will make a difference to grad schools unless you can link it with your research interests or something like that. If you're interested in the subject, I'd say go for it. I think as long as your GPA is decent it'll be fine.

I also did what SalsyBabe did and agree with her analysis.

I am currently doing a double major, psych and nursing. I think the two will compliment each other nicely in practice, unfortunately academically there is little overlap.

Psychology, and Biology double major here. First year freshmen!

I doubled in Communicative Disorders and Psychology. Com D gave me clinical experience earlier since there was a year of practicum at the undergraduate level, and I've also been able to work as a speech therapy aide. I am interested in working with children, and being able to recognize language and articulation disorders can't hurt. I don't know how most graduate programs view this, but I can't imagine that it's a bad thing.

Some people get a second major in business, and find that useful for employment before and during graduate school. One guy in my class manages a treatment program, and his double degree helped him to get that job as well as to do it well. It would help with managing a private practice too, or another agency.

<---Did biz also. It wasn't that the classes were directly applicable, but my internship was invaluable. I ended up doing consulting before doing this stuff, and i'll be doing both when I finally get licensed (It feels like forever!)

I personally did not take the business route because I know business because my father started a business and it has been running for about 20yrs, so I figured if I need anything I could get it from him. =)
