I'm currently a freshmen in college and I'm considering either to get an MPH or go into Occupational Therapy for grad school. I know that for both of those psychology is a recommended major. But if I wanted to do International Health, would it be better to major in international studies or psychology?
Also, is the reputation of your undergraduate school important for MPH grad school admissions? Currently, I am attending a large state school, but I was accepted into a top 20 school as a transfer. I'm trying to decide (money-wise) whether or not if I should transfer.

I'm sure they do take major and undergrad school into consideration, but I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Animal Sciences and had no trouble getting accepted to both schools I applied to. I am in my first semester in Epidemiology at UPitt.

Why not try to double major or minor? I'm in a similar situation as you are- also a freshman in an okay college, and interested in public health. I was trying to decide between international affairs (what I'm interested in) and health science (the more practical/useful route). I've decided to major in int'l affairs and minor in health science because I feel that int'l affairs will expose me to a lot more unique experiences than if I solely concentrated on health. Keep in mind that when you're applying for schools, you'll be competing with other equally qualified people for the same spot. I've heard that med schools (actually a lot of schools in general) like people who are unique and not just a mold from a cookie cutter. Because you said psych was a recommended major, I'm sure there will be a lot of psych majors applying to the same schools as you are. What do you have to offer that's different? But if you're more into psych than intl studies, then go for it.
