An enlisted family member of mine asked that I attend his graduation from AIT. I was not planning on wearing my uniform but he seemed to want me to. Is there any reason why I SHOULD or NEED to wear it? I'm really not confident enough in my military knowledge to go walking around a giant TRADOC base where the "real" military people will be scrutinizing me, plus I don't see much of a need to wear it.

Are questions such as this one answered in the Officer's handbook? I may have to dig that thing out of my closet.

Maybe he's planning on getting that silver dollar out of you 🙂

If your family member is close to you and wants you to wear it I'd suggest honoring their wish and doing so. I understand your feeling of not feeling prepared, but as long as you understand the whole "who to salute" thing you would likely be fine. Nobody is going to be there to harass you, everyone is in a pretty good mood.

I say if the person wants you to wear the uniform I would.

Do I pretty much have a choice in what to wear? It's pretty hot here, so I was planning to wear my class B, assuming I don't chicken out and wear civvies.
