On my AADSAS application, I stated that I was a co-author of a published article in a science journal. This is also something I mentioned during two of my interviews. I found out yesterday that is actually not true ..YET. The paper that I will be a co-author of has currently been assigned to an editor and will most likely pass all the different stages to be published -- but the actual "publishing" most likely will not happen until December or January.
I don't know how the whole publication process works, to be honest. This was completely unintentional and based on my knowledge, I thought the article had already been published. I am not sure what I should do.
Should I let it rest because it was unintentional and because the article will be published, or should I reach out to all my interviewers/schools I applied to tell them of my mistake? I'm worried it's going to make me look bad because I misunderstood that the article had already been published and just going to complicate everything.
