Howdy!

I'm working on my residency CV and am looking for people's opinions/experiences about putting pre-medical school experiences on the CV. Specifically, I studied/worked abroad three times before matriculating into school and would like to put this on my CV to establish a pattern of professional interest. I am considering going into ID and have aspirations to work with diverse and indigent communities. I studied abroad in medical school as well.

Should I stand only on the things I did in medical school?

I have an appointment with my university's career advising and will ask the same thing, but am curious what other people's thoughts are.
Thank you for your time!

You can put it if you want, but if your interest is ID, all you need is a pulse to match. I've seen people who are IMG with board failures match into Yale and other big name programs

I think it can be helpful to think in terms of transferable skills in situations like this. This article has a helpful table of relevant transferable skills for medical students. An experience that demonstrates in a meaningful/significant that someone has strong communication skills, a track record of effective leadership, or productive organizational/management abilities could be useful to include, as these skills/abilities can be applied to the work of a physician. In this way, you can show that the experience demonstrates that you possess a skill or quality that will contribute to your success in the future.

Usually we advise people to only include at most 1-2 pre-medschool experiences in the residency app and only if they are very significant/impactful to your journey to medicine / the specialty you are pursuing.

I don’t think any PD will care about things non medical.
