I am taking only ten units next semester because I have absolutely no classes left to take, and I wanted to spend more time doing clinical volunteering and research. However, I read on the forums that some people said having a smaller unit count does not look good when applying to medical schools. I asked a friend of mine who just got admitted into three different schools and she said that it will not matter, and that she had ten units one semester as well. I wanted to see what any of you know about this issue. Thanks in advance!

For just one semester, I doubt they'll care, especially if you've proven yourself during the others. I took only four classes one term when I was also preparing for the MCAT, and it doesn't look like it hurt me too much (I think).

yea it would only make common sense...especially since i am going to be using the extra time doing other activities they like to see on your application.
