The UW has made plans to expand the sports and spine component of their department.
-- Recent announcement from the UW Rehab dept. --
Department of Rehabilitation Medicine welcomes the addition of Stan
Herring, M.D., Stuart Weinstein, M.D., and Chris Standaert, M.D.

We are very pleased to announce that Drs. Stan Herring (Clinical
Professor
of Rehabilitation Medicine), Stu Weinstein (Clinical Associate
Professor
of Rehabilitation Medicine), and Chris Standaert (Clinical Assistant
Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine) will be joining the Department of
Rehabilitation Medicine full time effective January 1, 2005. These
three
physicians are currently in private practice at Puget Sound Sports and
Spine Physicians. They will be bringing their clinical practice to a
new
facility opened up by Harborview Medical Center at 401 Broadway. Dr.
Stan
Herring will also be providing leadership for the UW Medicine Spine
Program across the whole institution.

This practice group is well known nationally and internationally. Dr.
Herring, for example, has recently completed Presidency of the North
American Spine Society (NASS) and is also one of the team doctors for
the
Seattle Seahawks football team. Drs. Weinstein and Standaert are also
recognized as very accomplished musculoskeletal physiatrists. All
three
physicians are graduates of our residency training program. The group
of
three will bring terrific expertise to our program in musculoskeletal
medicine and will work collaboratively with our colleagues in
Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology, and Anesthesiology in
treating spine and sports medicine patients.

Good stuff for sure.
