I noticed there wasn't really a thread going on for University of Arizona and since we should all be hearing from them around March 1st, I figure I'd better get it set up. Keep your fingers crossed. I heard that U of A is pretty unpredictable as to who they accept. If you wouldn't mind, if you had an interview with U of A can you state your stats.

GPA: 3.67
PCAT: Chemistry: 54 (I think they look at chem most)
Overrall: 35 (don't judge)🙁
5+ years Certified tech work
Volunteer at hospital pharmacy
Involved in school (pre-pharmacy club, honors club)
In-state

GPA: 3.9
SGPA:3.8
BS: Cell Biology & Physiology from ASU
PCAT: Chemistry: 85
Overrall: 85
2+ years Certified tech work @ CVS
Volunteer at hospital pharmacy (Boswell in Sun City)
Involved in school (Pre-Pharmacy Club, AMSA)
Coach High School Baseball
In-state...Live In Glendale

Interviewed on February 2nd, which was a Friday.

with such stats I would launch a formal complaint if i didnt get in...excellent!

Stats are one aspect of an application. The interview is where you will need to show another set of "stats," namely your personality stats.

I did horrible on the PCAT but your right, I did really well on my interview so hopefully they can overlook my score. After all they gave me an interview even knowing my PCAT score. I don't even know what to think anymore but we should all find out next week!

Is that you, Crystal??? You've got to call me back and fill me in on the rest of your interview!

Good idea to start a UA thread! Give me a call. Definitely let me know which schools you got into!

Good luck!!!

I felt my interview went exceptionally well. I have got accepted into Midwestern-Glendale and Minnesota, I already accepted Midwesterns offer because my deadline to accept was before the March 1 arrival of the UofA response and declined the offer to Minnesota (to expensive for out of state tuition for 4 years). I also interviewed at Midwestern-Chicago, cancelled interviews at Iowa and Colorado. I do not know what I will do If I get into UofA, if midwetern was not a 3 year program the decision would be so much easier...I would go UofA all the way, but we will see what happens when we get there responses the end of this week, good luck to everyone!

To rxcrystal...the student that was my "guide" during my interview was a first year student that had a 3.5 GPA and scored a 50 on his PCAT, so should not be held back by your score, good luck.

John and everyone else who has been interviewed at Midwestern and U of A:
Please, please, please go to Midwestern so that the rest of us can go to U of A. Midwestern is only 3 years so you will be a pharmacist 1 year before the rest of us. By the way, thanks for cancelling your Colorado interview. I'm hoping for them too. I'm just messing with you, do what you want...you deserve it. I know Midwestern is very picky about PCAT scores.

My status page doesn't have any updates.🙁 I am expecting to get on the waiting list. Do you think they are posting accepted people first?

Thank you Crystal, I am not sure, when I checked yesterday the status page looked a little different, but there were no updates, when I checked today that is what I saw, it also as a link to the "letter" that they sent me that I need to return with a $300 check to hold my place in the class...a copy of the letter is below

Rxcrystal...when did you interview.

Just February 16th. But I didn't think it mattered. I am going absolutely insane! At least I had two other interviews elsewhere but I really want to go to U of A. We'll see. I am so happy for you though.😉

Congratulations JJRAZ!!!!
must be such an awesome feeling 🙂

Anybody else have ANYTHING updated on their application status page? Please let me know. I know one other person that has gotten accepted as well. So 2 people altogether.

My application status has not changed either, maybe because i'm out-of-state (or maybe not). Well, I also know of a person that has gotten accepted. We'll wait and see.

By the way, congrat JJRAZ

Thanks trackster...I am pretty excited.😀

I was accepted to U of A too! I checked my status this morning! I was the last interview date and I'm out of state, so apparently they're updating pages at random...

Ok thank you. I am just trying to determine if I am going to make the mark. Do you think they are waiting to put the people who are on the waiting list last? I might be thinking too much. It's not even the first yet. Does anybody know?

xcrystal, He is from Tucson, AZ, AND got 93 i believe on his chemistry with an average GPA. Not sure exactly what his GPA is but did exceptionally well on the interview.Former U of A student. I hope that helps rxcrystal

That does help. I suppose I will just have to wait a day or two to find out. If I make the waiting list that doesn't necessarily mean I won't get in. Does anyone have any stories of people who got in from the waiting list? (To give me hope)😉

hey, i still haven't heard yet either, I interviewed on feb 10. I thouoght it all went well, but i am sooooooo nervous. This was my only interview, and i am an out of stater. So Hopefully we will still be able to hear good news tomorrow. Lets just hope they still have more to update.

Good luck.

if anyone is interested my letter on line is dated February 26th, so hopefully we will be recieveing them in our mail boxes soon...

No, not yet. It's all good, though. I'll just go to a getto school instead. j/k. I'll get accepted somewhere just probably not U of A. I am expecting to get on the waiting list so that if I get accepted, then I will be very happy yet if I do not then I expected that.

Hang in there!

what is you plan B if you don't get into a pharmacy school this year? What are you going to do?

I am just curious, because that is the point I am almost at.

Good luck to anyone else hoping to have their status updated today!!

I also had interviews to 2 other schools that do not require the PCAT that I am still waiting to hear back from. Unfortunately, both schools take forever in deciding on acceptances. One is mailing out acceptances in April and the other gets back late March/early April. So I feel that I still have a good chance of getting in somewhere. If I do not get in, I will apply again next year. Before doing that I would check with the admissions committees that rejected me and ask them to review my application and give me imput on what I can improve for the next admissions cycle. In my case for U of A, I know I need to improve my PCAT score. Hopefully I get in this year so that I do not have to worry about taking that dreadful test again.😱

I'm waiting for the darn acceptance letter to come in the mail. So far, I got nothing. Just wanted to know if anyone got the letter yet. Hopefully it'll come tomorrow 'cuz I can't believe it until I see the real hard copy.

I have not received my hard copy of the letter yet either, but have not checked the mail today, hopefully soon , the deposit is due by march 12th...

No letter here either. And it only had to go from the pharmacy building to the Student Union...I can walk that in less than 20 minutes! Anyway, hopefully it will come soon.

Yeah guys i got my Jan PCAT score, still waiting for the damn admisssion status to change. Here are my stat in case anyone is interested:

Overall GPA: 3.8
Science GPA: 3.8

New PCAT Chemistry 99
PCAT Composite 73

Got 5 months volunteer experience in a pharmacy setting (in-patient and out-patient), a lot of extracurricular activities and still waiting.

Out-of-stater as well and interviewed on the 10th of February.

It is well with me

I got my acceptance letter "hardcopy" from them today, anyone else get theirs?

Well y'all. I wanted to let you know that I made the Alternate List. It's all good though. I wasn't expecting to get in necessarily given my PCAT score was so low. Congrats to all of you that got excepted. I know you have all worked hard to get in. In the mean time I will just wait for my alternate schools to get back with me. No worries.😉 Who knows maybe, just maybe somebody with opt out of going to U of A. Yeah right. 😛

how did you find out that you were an alternate?

Mine still hasn't been updated. I am going to give them a call tomorrow if i still haven't heard. They did say we would know by March 1st. So i think it would be ok.

At least they finally let you know.

Yeah. My next question is how many people make the alternate list and how they decide on who is called first for admission. Do you guys feel that it would be harmful of me to contact Marty Baker and ask her about the process? If I am 3rd alternate I may have a change, however if I am 15th on the list. Good luck.
