Any opinions of this residency program? I am trying to organize my second away rotation and have always loved Denver, just don't know much about the program, as there is not much info about it on the forum in the past. How's the training? Reputation and fellowship matching? Lifestyle?

Thanks y'all

I interviewed there this past cycle. Seems like a great program. Great training as far as I could tell. The PD and chair seemed like good people. University hospital is immaculate. Residents seemed happy with good quality of life. Only a few categorical spots, so plan accordingly for prelim year options. Good luck! Maybe somebody else will chime in with further opinions.

I really liked this program! I interviewed there this past cycle as well, and all of the residents are very happy with their training and life in Denver (and I certainly can't blame them). Definitely agree with everything GABAergic said; also heard the categorical intern year is a beast and to avoid it, if possible. There's a cush TY program in town, and a decent IM prelim that a lot of residents do, which seemed like better options (didn't interview at either, though). It was in my group of "I'd be happy to see this in my envelope" programs, but I put a couple programs ahead of it based mostly on gut feeling and some subtleties on my interview days elsewhere. From what I recall hearing at the pre-interview dinner, their critical care rotations are currently pretty rough, but are being changed; residents seemed cautiously optimistic. Don't remember much about fellowship, except they send a lot to peds at Denver children's. Hope that helps!
