Lol. Well I'm 24 so I'm definitely not old yet - 1.5 years until I hit the big two-six!

No but seriously, akestler had it right. SQ and I are married (separately, to different men, not each other :laugh: ) and its a running joke, although it hasn't been going that long. Rather we're "off the market" so to speak.

So yeah, no body shots with strange men. Or non-strange men who aren't our significant others, really. Although my hubby offered to do a body shot off of me if necessary so I wouldn't feel left out. 😉

I am looking at the pre-mat program because I have been out of undergrad for 5 years, and, even though I spent a year in grad school, I think it will help me get back into the groove. However, I don't think it's necessarily important or even beneficial for everyone. If you've never really had a significant chunk of time off, then perhaps it is a good idea to take a couple of months to just relax. I was a ski bum for 3 months a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best times of my life.

I am a female who is looking for a roommate. Where are you looking at apartments? Coz and I have been doing some research. So far, I like the Redwood the most and the University Suites the least, but I think I need to go back and check it out again to get a more definitive picture of what I want.

Actually, I hit my "quarter-life crisis" at 25, like clockwork. Most of you guys are just little babies...Even you old married ladies 🙂

I actually like being 26. You're definitely more mature than you were at 21, but you can still get away with a lot of **** that you can't once you hit 30. Like doing body shots off of random strangers. (Although I think I'll save that for Vegas!)

1) Someone is trying to be funny, but is not very good at it.
2) They need to pick an event - either casino night OR a picnic. Not both.
3) Makes me think about my own company picnic. I hope they have it before I leave at the end of July.

I have cingular and have no plans to switch. Everytime I've been to Baltimore my reception has been fine.

The upgrade is just through cingular to renew the contract which I intend to do anyway, its just a decision of what to use the upgrade for. A new phone for $0 and sell my old one on eBay, get the upgrade and sell it on eBay and keep my old phone, or get a Razor for only $50 and sell my old one on eBay.

If you've got the cash I'd get the razor. Those things are cool looking. I'll have to check and see when I am due for an upgrade with cingular. I get great reception everywhere except my apartment. 🙄
 
I want a new phone!! I have T-Mobile and I hate them. I've been planning to switch for like 2 years now 🙂

I don't need all that new-fangled email and internet...I just want something that will ring when called and send text messages. Oh, and T-Mobile's reception is so terrible, I can't even express it in words without getting red in the face. 😡

I think I'm going to sign up with Verizon in the near future.
 
Yeah, I went with the Razor. I figure once I sell my old phone and its case on eBay, the $50 will be taken care of, so I come out even. I could have gotten the Razor and made $100 selling it on eBay, but eh, why not. I'm about to live frugally enough in medschool, I'll forgo the $100 to have a spiffy phone.

Also, I bought a purple case for like $10 on eBay. 🙂

Ugh, I hate the razr phone. They feel cheap, have no tactile buttons, and the cameras are pitiful.

Also, Verizon gets the best service in the B-more area, but has crappy phones.

Just checked the e-vite and found your number. I'll probably end up calling from my cell phone, which is a 573 area code, just so you know when you see a number you don't recognize!

It looks like only 3 SDNers have rsvp'd saying they are going (and I am one of them!). I was really hoping more people could come, but I guess we are just a busy bunch with too many commitments. You all are going to miss out on some good times!
 
Tonight was the first episode of the amazing race I've ever watched. Those hippies are cool..they really know how to have a good time despite being in a competition.

Greg and I applied a couple years ago. Sadly, we are too boring and average. Additionally, we made a terrible video. You can only apply once, too. They don't let you reapply ad nauseum like Survivor.

But you can reapply with a different partner. :meanie:
 
I'd probably be that girl on tonight's episode freaking out about grabbing the lobster. I'm such a wimp about some things (like spiders...ew).

OMG, I totally HATE spiders. I just can't deal with anything that has more than 4 legs. :scared: That's why I could never go on one of those shows like Fear Factor, because the odds are, you're gonna either have to eat 'em or be submerged in 'em, and I don't know which one would be worse.

They don't make you do crazy disgusting crap like that on AR, do they? Rappel down a 1000-foot cliff? Easy.
Jump out of a moving vehicle? Cake.
No shower access for 4 days? No problem.
Ingest a large beetle soaked in a bull's testicular fluids? NO FAWKIN WAY.
 
I hate to break up the TV discussion, believe me I do recognize the inherent value of watching peple on TV do what I would like to be doing myself, but I would like to know if anyone has made a definative decision on their loans yet. That is if you are taking them out. I have not finished all the calculations but it looks like it is going to come down to UMB and AMS. AMS is offering a 3% deduction/return which essestialy results in a 6% reduction of the principal if you apply it to your loan. Though UMB's 1% + 2% interest rate reduction seems like it would save a chunk of change too. I plan on finishing the calculations later today but if anyone has already done it or has any other useful info, it would be greatly appreciated.

I made a spreadsheet but didn't do in depth calculations. I went with UMB (after I went with someone else then changed my mind). I think everyone else here has chosen their lender. As for taking the loans, yes, I'm taking mine if that's what you're asking. Cause I really don't have another 38.5k sitting around anywhere to give to UMD. 🙂
